The words “sustainability,” “green,” “eco,” and “environmentally friendly” permeate our news and advertising. Do you know what these terms really mean? Are you interested in promoting sustainability in meaningful ways in your personal life, business, and at Song of the Morning? Paulette will share stories from her research and learning in Mexico, Nicaragua, and Ecuador as well as here in Michigan. Learn and talk about “the Triple Bottom Line – Plus” – Economy, Social Equity, and Environment. And what is the “Plus”? Spirituality! Let’s practice non-violence by caring for the Earth and each other. Join our learning
Participants will receive a greater understanding of concepts and terms including: environmentalism, sustainability, Triple Bottom Line, Fair Trade, local, organics, and Community Supported Agriculture. They will also enjoy learning about our fellow human beings in Mexico, Ecuador, and Nicaragua and how we, as consumers, can make a difference in the lives of others with every purchase we make. Finally, participants will leave with a greater appreciation of the treasures of Song of the Morning's lands as well as ideas for active pursuit of sustainability in their daily lives at home and beyond.
