Methodology
The teaching of real language for a real purpose in an action-oriented approach is at the heart of our methodology. We teach the language you need to communicate in real life. You do exercises to improve your fluency and your accuracy. And then we provide activities which require real communication. We pay very careful attention to the degrees of control in the practice leading from initial presentation of new language towards realistic communicative use of that language. Working in the other direction, we use communicative activities to identify your need for practice in accuracy or in fluency.
Our programs are structured in such a way that you will quickly absorb the culture and get to know the people of your host country. The international nature of our schools, with students from many countries of the world, offers opportunities for enriching intercultural encounters.

Accommodation
Our aim is to make you feel truly at home in your host country. That's why we give you the choice to stay with a host family, in a student residence, a hotel or guesthouse, you can be sure that the high quality standards set by us will always be maintained.
Host family
Living with a host family is an exciting experience, and the one that most our students opt for. It means that you will get to know about everyday life and the culture in your host country at first hand, and will also have opportunity to use your newly-acquired language skills with native speakers all day, every day. You will live as a guest in "your" family's home, sharing it with the other members of the family. With a little consideration and tact, living together can be an enriching experience, one that you'll enjoy and remember with pleasure for may years to come.
Naturally, you'll have a room of your own, comfortably and practically furnished to a good local standard. Many of our schools can also offer you the choice of a private room with your own bath or shower. For your meals, you can choose between half-board (breakfast and hot evening meal) or just breakfast. If you have any special requirements, such as vegetarian food, please let us know on the registration form. We will make every possible effort to comply with your wishes when arranging your accommodation.
Our host families are carefully selected and regularly inspected by our local staff, following clearly defined quality standards. We have been working with most of our host families for many years now; there are families with or without children, older couples or single persons. All are experienced in looking after guests in their homes, and all of them enjoy the opportunity of meeting young people from all over the world.
See life as it really is - Student residence
In a student residence, the emphasis is on contact between students from all over the world. One thing is for sure, here too you'll be able to chat with each other in your foreign language outside the classroom. You'll soon make friends with other students, learning or spending your leisure time together. You'll be living in a single room, and be responsible for your own meals. There are several reasonable restaurant facilities available in Florence. Some of the student accommodations do provide cooking facilities, where you can prepare your own meals
Hotel or apartment
If you independence is really important to you, we will also be happy to arrange accommodation for you in a hotel or guesthouse. We work with ideally-situated two-, three or four-star hotels, which offer our students attractive rates. Or maybe you would prefer the peace and total independence of an apartment of your own if you've enrolled on an extended course. Most of these are basic, inexpensive studios with a bedroom and living room, plus kitchenette. The range of apartments varies from place to place, so ask your booking agent what is available.
The accommodation is available from the Saturday afternoon prior to the start of the course to the Saturday morning following the end of the course. Half-board includes breakfast and one evening meal daily. Double rooms are available if you come with a partner. Rates on request.
If you've had a long journey and would like to get to the accommodation you've booked quickly and safely, we can offer you an additional service. We will arrange for a driver to meet you at the airport or railway station, and you'll be taken directly to your accommodation. You can order this pickup service directly when you book and pay for your language course.
Faculty Information:
The school is famous for its professional and qualified teaching. The school is periodically controlled by the international quality organization AEQUALS. We employ only teachers with the highest standard of education who teach exclusively in their mother tongue. Three experienced and qualified teachers will teach in each class. Classes are small, from 6 to 13 students of various nationalities.
The school staff will be always ready to help you if problems occur, if you are homesick, if you have problems with the host families, if you need a doctor.

Florence is recognized worldwide as the birthplace of European culture. This was where the Renaissance originated, ultimately influencing the entire cultural and spiritual life of Europe. The remnants of this past are everywhere - in the large number of Renaissance palaces, the Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi galleries - to mention but a few. The liveliness of present-day Florence is evident in the street cafés and bars, the markets and the uninhibited temperament of the inhabitants. You can enjoy visiting this cultural and spiritual center of Europe.

Facility Information:
Our School is the oldest state-recognized school of foreign languages in Florence. The school can be found in Palazzo Guadagni, a Renaissance palace dating from the 16th century, and is located in the middle of the old town center, in Piazza S. Spirito - a beautiful square with outside restaurants and cafe.
The building is the work of the architect Cronaca and was built between 1502 and 1508. In the 1860's, it was extensively improved by the architect Poggi with the addition of beautiful frescoes. The school was completely renovated, taking care to enhance the original features but also making use of the best of modern Italian design to produce a stunning mix of new and old.The historic school building, renovated in 1992, has eleven classrooms, a multimedia learning center, a lecture room and a student lounge and is in a quaint Italian quarter.
The school is 300 m from the Pitti Palace, 500 m from the Ponte Vecchio and about 15 minutes' walk from the cathedral (il Duomo) and from the railway station. There is a bus stop 200 m from the school and practically all buses stop at the cathedral.
