We are a Language school for German language only. The school was founded in 2004. Students can choose between 4, 6 or 8 hours of lessons per day. The content of the course and everything else is highly individual. During the course you will be living in a typical apartment in the center of a small city (near Cologne) in Germany and be visited by a teacher or trainer who will show you how to talk in German language or to write, to read, to pronounce, to discuss or what else you prefer. Business, culture, sports... You will learn the rules of German language in combination with the words and phrases that you are interested in.
Contents of the course:
Basic course
The german alphabet - numbers - personal data - greetings - pronunciation - the calendar - talking about the weather - shopping - the human being - household - foods and beverages - questions - describing things.
Intermediate
Telephoning - writing letters and e-mails - discussing - exchange of views - understanding news - nature - application for employment, CV - spare time - sports - humour - your personal topic.
Advanced
Writing a summary - critics - writing argumentative essays - literature - science - economy - articles - preparation for certificate "TestDAF" - your personal topic.
Once registered, your course can start right away. For preparation I will send you a CD and correct your "homework" once a week, if you wish to.
Method
The method is simple but effective: you decide what you want to learn and we'll find out the best way to achieve it. Do you prefer written or oral text? Do you learn best through communication? Do you have already knowledge of grammatical rules? Do you need German language for your job? Do you need an official certificate? Your answers determine the contents of the course.
Accommodation
Düren is situated right in the middle between the two famous cities Aachen (Aix-la-chapelle) and Cologne. If wanted, during the course students (1 or 2, not more) can be living in a fully equipped apartment that belongs to the school. Since the apartment is only 5 minutes from the train station you'll be at the Cathedral of Cologne in less than 30 minutes. In the south-west there is the National Park "Eifel" with the "Rursee", the medieval town "Monschau" and many places more worth a visit. Düren itself is a city that provides its more than 90.000 residents everything needed.
Faculty Information:
Courses are held in German language from the first lesson onwards. The teacher obtained his Magister Degree at the University of Cologne and has 20 years of experience in teaching German as foreign language.
Other employers represent different industries, as for example: telecommunications, financial services, theatre, catering trade, music production and other ones.
Other Activities:
Meetings can be arranged with German people, who share your interests. For example if you are a musician you will have the opportunity to meet German musicians to talk with. This can be part of the lesson or be arranged in your spare time.
Facility Information:
Fully equipped apartment (2 rooms, kitchen, bathroom) in the center of the town, TV, computer, library. Material (wordlists, texts) is exclusively developed for your course.
