The courses of Summer School ASSA offer lectures in Georgian Language, the History of Georgian Art, Archeology, the History of Georgia and Ethnography. The lectures are given in one of the main buildings of Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University, that is situated in the central part of the city, 600 meters away from the hotel.

The duration of lectures is 45/50 minutes in agreement with listeners. There will be breaks between lectures. The lectures run from 9 am to 1 pm. Then follows afternoon activities - sightseeing, etc; and evening activities theater or cinema.

Faculty Information:
This program of Summer School offers to get to know and learn the ancient language and three kinds of its alphabet. Participants will have opportunity to look through the manuscripts belonging to the 3 - 4 centuries. Bilingva (art museum) and Bolnisi Sioni - monastery.

The program implies a course of lectures during 42 days. The lectures are given every day except weekends from 9,00 AM till 1,00 PM with breaks. The number of listeners mustn't be less than 4 (four) and more than 9 (nine). The course is taken in English - Georgian; German - Georgian; French - Georgian languages.

Other Activities:
Our Summer School tours are held in different towns and regions of Georgia, by the various kinds of transport, mainly by bus/microbus and train (Cognitive-Trip, Archaeological, Ecological programs). But the most part of the journeys in the Wild Life Program are made by horses.

During these tours we shall deal with such natural and cultural resources of Georgia and Caucasus, that we hope will enrich your knowledge with diversity of nature.

The course runs for 6 weeks, 4 hours a day except Saturday and Sunday. The Georgians take their origin from Kheto-Iberian tribes inhabiting the territory of Georgia and adjoining south-western land in the 3 rd millennium B.C.

Georgian language is one of the oldest languages. Its alphabet, one of the fourteen alphabets in the world was created in the 4th-3rd cc B.C. The examples of ancient Georgian written language are discovered not only in Georgia but in 13 churches and monasteries of Jerusalem, Palestine, Egypt and Syria.
