The programs of our Italian language schools are specially designed to provide total language immersion. Each program presents one of the most comprehensive curriculum combining in-class instruction with added features, such as lectures on Italian civilization, customs, and cuisine, as well as excursions and activities with native Italian speakers.

Italian Language Courses by the Sea
Lessons are held in groups of 6 to 10 students, from Monday to Friday 09.00 - 13.50. 30 lessons are given per week. Courses begin every week, and individual starting dates are flexible. Following an assessment test on the first day, students are placed in different courses, guaranteeing the homogeneity of the groups.
Beginner I and Beginner II
At the beginner level students learn the constitutive elements of the Italian language, i.e. grammar and syntax. This first step into the world of Italian language includes the mastering of everyday situations and the acquisition of basic communicative competence.
Intermediate I and Intermediate II
The Italian language courses - Intermediate levels are focusing on communication with native speakers. In order to reach the ability to speak fluent Italian many oral exercises are conducted. More difficult and complex syntactic and grammatical constructions are examined and learned.
Students have the opportunity to learn a wide-ranged and advanced vocabulary enabling them to understand abstract texts and articles from, for instance newspapers. Minimal requirements for Intermediate 1 is the mastering of the past tense and easier terms, for Intermediate 2 all terms of the indicative.
Advanced 1 – Advanced 2
In the advanced Italian language courses difficult and complex structures of the Italian language are taught. The participant will reach a sophisticated level of understanding, summarizing and presenting texts with complex content. A near-native pronunciation and the ability to speak fluent Italian are the objectives of the Advanced II courses. The main emphasis of the theoretical part will be grammar-exercises.
Grammar Course
This course offers students with a good grammatical base the chance to perfect their knowledge in this specific field. The aim of the language course is to study the Italian grammar thoroughly and deeply in order to reach a new and advanced understanding of the language. The language course will be held in July, August and September and will last for 2 or 4 weeks with four hours of teaching each day.
Combined Courses
All participants who take part in the group courses (Beginner 1 - Advanced) have the option to get additional private or 2 on 1-lessons in the afternoon to reinforce their knowledge and/or to learn more subject-specific terminology.
Language Classes on Italian History and Politics
The Italian language courses on Italian history and politics are designed for students with a solid advanced knowledge of the Italian language, who are interested in the political and historical situation of Italy. We deal with important historical events from 1860 until today, reading articles and historical documents, and watching movies. Additionally, we analyze interviews that were conducted in Italy with politicians, historicoligists, writers, workers, and intellectuals. The classes take place in July and September. Duration: 2 or 4 weeks, 4 lessons a day. Exact dates of the language classes on request.
Private lessons
A private Italian language course is the most effective and intensive way to learn Italian. Our private courses are designed just for you. As soon as we have established your needs, we design a course to meet your specific requirements.
We take into account your current knowledge, the amount of time you have available to devote to the language, and the terminology you are looking for, e.g. ‘survival skills’ for beginners or more specialized terminology (financial, business, medical, technical) for advanced speakers. Intensive training is either on a one-on-one basis or can be arranged for a group of colleagues from the same organization.
One-on-Two and specialized courses

Business Italian
Our classes that are specifically designed for a certain profession are usually held either on a one-on-one or two-on-one basis in order to be able to better meet the individual learning objectives of the student. We also conduct Italian classes for companies at every location, in and outside of Italy. Please refer to our Frankfurt office for further information. The classes in Business Italian are designed for students with a solid advanced knowledge of the Italian language. We offer three focuses:
- Italian for trade;
- Italian for import and export;
- Italian for the banking sector.
The Italian language courses are offered for students who want to learn Italian for their respective profession. The structure of the language classes in Italy is designed to meet the oral and written requirements requested in the business world. Some individual learning objectives and focuses can be set by the students as major topics in the course of the class. The duration of the language courses is 1 to 4 weeks with 20-40 lessons a week, depending on your individual level of knowledge. The ideal number of students per course is 1-2 maximum.
CILS preparatory courses
The Certification of Italian as a Foreign Language (CILS) is the official title that denotes the degree of linguistic competency of Italian as a foreign language. The CILS is awarded by the University of Siena for Foreigners and is recognized by the Italian State on the basis of an agreement with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Most of Italian universities use the CILS as an entrance requirement.
Our school organizes intensive courses for preparation of the CILS exams. More than 98 percent of the participants of our preparatory courses pass the exam easily. In contrast to the preparatory courses directly at University and other schools, our courses are small-sized and targeted at the specific needs of foreigners learning Italian in an effective way.
The CILS is useful to those who study Italian, who work and study within an Italian context, and to those who wish to measure their capacity in Italian. Each CILS level denotes an ability to communicate which may be used in different contexts and situations. The ability of each level of certification for foreigners who wish to undertake activities in relation with Italian institutions for professional or scholastic purposes is established in the document of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs entitled "Coordinated system of Certificates of Italian for Foreigners", Rome 1998.
CILS levels. The CILS covers six levels: Level A1, Level A2, Level ONE-B1, Level TWO-B2, Level THREE-C1 and Level FOUR-C2. Each of these represents a progressively higher level of linguistic and communicative ability.

Faculty Information:

In addition to lessons, evenings featuring discussion groups, cultural events, and lectures that are presented in Italian are organized. This will not only enhance your ability to speak and understand Italian, but also give you interesting insights into the Italian way of thinking and living.

In the lessons we concentrate on topics and issues from different fields, such as fine arts, Italian culture, Italian economy, Italian politics and society. Our Italian language school is open during the whole year. The lessons are held from Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 13.50.

If you fancy some culture, you can take a walk to the new 2.000 seat theatre right next to the castle. Choose from a huge variety of cultural events, from plays to dance shows, from ballets to exhibitions - the theatre has something for everyone. In summer the Castello turns into a meeting point for artists, actors, and freethinkers from all over the globe. It surely provides fertile ground for many discussions where you can test your newly learned ability to speak Italian. Villa Toscana is the oldest and most beautiful mansion in Castiglioncello. The villa originates from the 16th century and is surrounded by a vast 15.000 qm park with Mediterranean flora. The Campagna, the wild and beautiful Tuscan landscape is right next to the villa. This ideal and quiet setting guarantees our students peace and enough space and time for contemplation even on the busiest of days.
The villa consists of 12 private apartments, each with 2 - 3 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, and living room. The apartments are newly furbished and have central heating. Cleanliness and comfort are guaranteed.
The Villa is situated in the center of town on Via della Ragnaia 31. School, Castello, beach, and piazza are within a walking distance of about 7 - 10 minutes. Parking space at the property is available.
Normally, 2 - 4 students share one apartment. Rooms can be booked as singles or doubles. Please note that students traveling on their own can only book single rooms. Two (two single rooms) or more persons travelling together can reserve an apartment without other students.
