The Teacher Homestay program is one that enables the student to stay in Homestay with a qualified English teacher. This program provides personalized English tuition whilst experiencing the typical Australian family lifestyle. We highly recommend this program for those who want to experience the best in English language learning.
Our Teacher Homestay program also allows plenty of time for sightseeing and shopping. We have outlined our packages in our Homestay Fees section, and we are able to tailor for your personal needs if necessary. This program has been proven to be very popular for the international traveler.
Our teacher homestay families will:
- Provide private English tuition at a range of suitable levels;
- Provide a safe, clean and comfortable home;
- Provide a private, furnished bedroom and bathroom;
- Provide three meals a day;
- In certain homes, access to the Internet;
- Treat you with respect and kindness;
- Have family members of English speaking Australians for conversational English practice.
At our homestay we will also provide personal assistance with arranging tours to suit individual needs, airport transfers, plus ongoing support and guidance via a 24hr a day Help line. If you would like to experience the Aussie lifestyle and at the same time learn English with a qualified teacher, then our program could be for you!
Unlike any other homestay service, we have never had to limit the number of placements necessary to meet all of your needs. We base our high success rate on our rigorous recruitment process for Teacher Host families, our open communication with our Teacher Host families and our detailed application forms.

Dakkoala Homestay have a 24 hour a day helpline. The co-ordinator makes contact with all students throughout their stay.
Other Activities:
If you like sun, surf and sand, unpolluted air and a relaxed lifestyle, with great accommodation and heaps of tourist attractions thrown in, then you'll love the Gold Coast of Australia. We have 70 kilometers of coastline with over 40 patrolled beaches, numerous biking and hiking trails and all of the outdoor activities such as watersports and golf.
Our hosts will assist in arranging tours of interest. We have a homestay only theme park package "Fun in the Sun", for students aged 10 -18 years.
Facility Information:
All our host families have qualified teachers who are keen to provide a supportive learning environment whilst enabling our students to experience the best cultural exchange Australia has to offer. Our hosts can take up to 2 students at one time. Host teachers are available throughout the entire year.
Every home is in a convenient, safe location with easy access to popular tourist attractions. Most hosts have internet access and provide a safe, clean learning and living environment.
Notes:
- $100.00 placement fee;
- $100.00 airport transfers (includes pick-up and drop-off.);
- Teacher homestay option (1 - 10 hrs tuition) - $680.00 per week. (includes 3 meals a day);
- Teacher homestay option (2 - 15hrs tuition) - $880.00 per week (includes 3 meals a day);
- We offer homestay only packages at a rate of $45 per night including 3 meals per day.
All fees are quoted in Australian dollars. Discounted rates may be available for group bookings and/or extended stays.
