The program is not intensive and time is given for individual exploring or simply a swim! All levels are covered and both film and digital formats are included, with informal discussions along the way and accompanied by Jan McGready, with 20 yrs experience in photography.
Where better to study photography than in a vast land of myths and legends, history and holidays, blue skies and azure seas? Being spoilt for choice is the biggest problem you will face in Turkey where the sun shines for 14 hours a day and life goes on at a different pace slow or slower! The holiday workshop will combine some fantastic photo opportunities along with a taste of Turkish life few tourists ever get to see or experience.
We aim to make the holiday workshop relatively informal, helping to improve your photographic ability whilst not getting too involved with the technical side of things. One to one advice will be available throughout, with occasional discussions and reviews.
During your 7 night stay we will visit some of the most famous archaeological sites in Turkey including the stunning ruins of Ephesus, the imposing Castle of St John (built by crusaders) and not just one, but two of the seven ancient wonders of the world - The Temple of Artemesia and the Tomb of King Mausolus - the original mausoleum. Between all this ancient history there will be ample time to explore village life in the hills, shopping at the local weekly market and sample the delicious Turkish cuisine along the way.
Your accommodation will be in a Konak hotel a traditional Greek style walled house, with gardens, a courtyard, a pool and lots of charm. I will be accompanying you throughout the trip to make sure you get to the best view points and to give help along the way. I have lived in Turkey for the last ten years and have been involved in photography for more than twenty.
