Welcome to our Spanish School! We are located next to the Hotel Marina Copán in the heart of the peaceful, scenic town of Copán Ruinas. Our Spanish School is a locally-owned school with experienced and enthusiastic teachers dedicated to quality Spanish acquisition and comprehension.
For students living in Copán for an extended period, volunteer positions are available. The need for volunteer assistance is greatest in the following areas:
- Environment
- Health
- Education
- Agriculture
- Religion.
We offer an intensive Spanish immersion experience in a comfortable, productive learning environment:
- 1-to-1 student/teacher ratio
- 4 hours daily, 5 days a week
- Plus optional excursions to reinforce class learning
- An opportunity to live with a local family
- A wide variety of exciting outside activities
- Rewarding volunteer opportunities
- A workbook specific to your level
- Local coffee & snacks
- Bilingual library for all levels
- 1 hour free Internet weekly
- Diploma & small local-made memento.
* Accommodation:
- Homestay: Living with a family offers the opportunity to speak Spanish outside of class and better understand Copán´s culture. Families are middle class, and are chosen for their kindness and welcoming nature.
Each homestay offers:
- 7 nights/ 7 days
- 3 meals daily (vegetarian meals available)
- a private room.
Faculty Information:
Although the town of Copán Ruinas is relatively prosperous due to eco-tourism and the Maya ruins, the region around Copán is one of the poorest places in the Western Hemisphere. For this reason, volunteer opportunities abound. And your efforts will be appreciated. Living with a family offers the opportunity to speak Spanish outside of class and better understand Copán´s culture.

The Copán region offers a fantastic array of activities when you´re not in class. We´re happy to arrange for you any of the activities below:
- Tour the world-famous Maya ruins;
- Agua caliente (hot springs);
- Hacienda San Lucas;
- El Rubí Waterfall;
- Horseback Riding;
- Bird & Butterfly Watching.
