With Marguerite’s Cheerful Cooking Lessons, English speaking Paris visitors can learn how to impress their friends with original and easy-to-prepare French recipes.
A mother of three young children, Marguerite has developed through the years a full set of easy seasonal recipes that also look great. With Marguerite’s cooking courses, you too can now treat your friends to a nice dinner party, without having to spend a full day in your kitchen each time you entertain.
Marguerite’s cooking experience begins with a market visit to shop for the day’s lesson and to discover the typical French open air markets atmosphere.
Participants then cook by themselves the two-course menu they’ll dine on: because we believe that to master a technique it needs to be practiced at least once under supervision, our lessons are truly hands-on, with one fully-equipped workstation for each two students.
* Several possibilities are offered:
- For individuals, groups of friends, families: a market visit to shop for the day's lesson's ingredients, followed by a hands-on lesson, and then a lively lunch in Marguerite's dinning room or garden, according to the season. The lessons can combine to allow you to master several complete, easy to make French menus, and to understand better the French «art de recevoir».
- For companies or groups of professionals: Marguerite offers Team-building cooking courses: enjoy preparing recipes all together, and eating them afterwards!
Upon demand, Marguerite can also plan special events for you, like a Bridal shower, a wedding anniversary or even a honeymoon activity.

- Specific courses on Provençal cooking, Tajines, festive meals, foie gras. Please phone or email us to get the program;
- Private lessons to help you prepare a specific menu for a special occasion: Bridal shower, Wedding anniversary, Honeymoon activity;
- Shopping trips: market visits, specialty shops.
Our recipes are so simple that you can even share them daily with your family! The language to be used is English, and American versions of all prepared recipes (American ingredients and measures) are given to all participants.

- In La Défense, take line T2 towards Issy Les Moulineaux, exit at Belvédère (2nd stop, less than 5 minutes): you're there!
It's a 3 minutes walk from Belvédère to the cooking school (See the map below, but for more details: take the "rue des velettes" exit (you need to cross the tracks), then when you reach rue Gambetta, take a left, then turn right on rue du Ratrait (100 meters from the rue des velettes). The cooking school's street is the first one on your left.
