Our school, based in the beautiful city of Seville in Andalucia, Spain, offers you an unrivaled choice of food and wine activities, including gastronomic breaks, one-day excursions, cooking lessons, wine-tastings and tapas tours. Seville is only a short distance away from where some of Spain´s greatest gastronomic and vinous treasures can be found. Our cooking school has been mentioned in numerous publications with the Independent in the UK recommending the company in its list of top ten foodie holidays.

You will stay in a wonderful hotel full of history in the old centre of Seville. Cooking classes will be given by two teachers. Ruth Roberts, originally from Australia, has over 20 years experience as a culinary professional in Spain. She gives classes in her open plan apartment with her balcony overlooking the cathedral and Giralda tower.

Our other teacher is one of the best chefs in the south of Spain, Willy Moya. Trained in Spain and Paris, Willy runs the Poncio restaurant in Seville which has gained accolades from all over the world. His big kitchen is ideal for all kinds of cooking classes. As well as the cooking classes we will be taking you on excursions related to wine, Iberian ham and olive oil. Seville is also considered by many to be the tapas capital of Spain.

Apart from dishes such as paella, Spanish omelette and gazpacho, Spain´s great cuisine has been little known throughout the world. However, this situation is gradually changing as more and more people become aware of the quality and variety of the country´s gastronomy. Also now, some of the world´s top chefs are Spanish.

We can offer you the chance to learn to make anything from basic dishes to much more elaborate ones. Great stews and meat dishes, seafood recipes, vegetable dishes, salads, desserts with a Moorish influence and so on. You decide what you want to learn and we will put together a hands-on class or classes for you.

Classes take place in the historic center of Seville. Before your class you will be taken on a market visit where you will purchase some or all of the ingredients for the dishes you are going to learn to prepare. After the class you will sit down to lunch with wine. Hopefully, you will be able to sit out on the balcony with wonderful views of the cathedral and Giralda. Price for group of:

- 1 person - 225 euros;
- 2 people - 160 euros per person;
- 3 people - 125 euros per person;
- 4-8 people - 110 euros per person.

We are proud to announce that our school is teaming up with one of Andalusia's most prestigious chefs Willy Moya, who will be offering his services as a cookery teacher to our clients. Willy, who was trained in Spain and Paris, runs one of Seville's top restaurants, Poncio, where his creative Andalusian cooking has brought him accolades from around the world.

Cooking sessions will be around 3 hours long, giving clients plenty of time to learn to prepare a range of dishes. Clients can decide what they would like to learn or just leave it in Willy's hands. Possibilities include:

- a selection of tapas dishes;
- popular rice dishes;
- seafood recipes;
- cooking with extra virgin olive oil;
- cooking with sherry style wines and sherry vinegar;
- dishes made with the ham and meat of the acorn-fed Iberian pig.

As well as offering the classes on their own we can combine excursions with cooking classes. Thus a visit to the Jerez region could be combined with a class preparing dishes with sherry-style wines and sherry vinegar. In the same way an olive oil excursion could be combined with a session on the use of olive oil in Spanish cookery. A trip to the ham-producing area would also lend itself to making dishes using Iberian ham and Iberian pork.

We have put together a series of fantastic packages for people who would like a complete gastronomic experience. For the week-long break this includes two cooking days plus other cooking demonstrations:

- Short gastronomic break: Three nights in one of Seville´s most charming hotels. Transport to and from Seville´s airport, bus or train station. Tapas tour of some of Seville's finest bars with your tour guide Roger Davies on the first night. Excursions to the Sierra of Aracena and the sherry towns Jerez and Sanlúcar de Barrameda.

The price per person for this short break is 780 Euros. The minimum number of people is two and the maximum sixteen. This break operates all year round. Please consult us for a full program and information on booking and payment terms.

- Week-long break (Monday to Sunday): Six nights in one of Seville´s most charming hotels. Transport to and from Seville´s airport, bus or train station. Two cooking days with visits to the market and delicatessen shops. Learn how to make great tapas and prepare a three-course Andalusian meal with your chef Ruth Roberts who has more than twenty years experience as a professional in Spain.

Three full day excursions related to great sherry, superb ham and fine olive oil taking you to the Jerez region, the Sierra of Aracena and the Sierra of Grazalema. Tapas tour of some of Seville´s finest bars. Introductory and farewell dinners in two of Seville´s best restaurants.

Seville is possibly the best city in Spain for tapas. It has the largest number of bars per inhabitant anywhere, offering an amazing range of food. There’s something for everybody whether it be meat, seafood, vegetables, olives, cheese etc. You name it, somebody is sure to have used it in a tapa.

For groups of as little as two people we offer you a guided tour of some of Seville’s finest tapas bars. To help you out we will provide you with an English translation of Spanish food and cooking vocabulary. We will also advise you on all the best places to eat in and around Seville. The tour price includes four tapas and four drinks. Price for group of:

- 2 people - 70 euros per person;
- 3 people - 60 euros per person;
- 4-8 people - 50 euros per person.

We can adapt all of the activities we offer to meet the needs of any group of people. You may already have arranged a trip to Spain or Seville or you might be attending a conference here and wish to add on one of our activities to your agenda. As long as you advise us at least 15 days in advance we should be able to accommodate you. Groups can be anything from two people to fifty.

We also design food and wine tours which go beyond southern Spain, taking you to wine regions such as La Rioja, and Ribera del Duero as well as sampling the culinary delights of Spain's capital city Madrid. We hold wine-tastings of Spanish wine accompanied by food at the the recently opened restaurant on the first floor above Seville´s oldest bar, El Rinconcillo.

Our main tastings feature the wines from Jerez. As well as explaining how the wines are made and tasting the different styles we show you how versatile they are with food, something which many people are not aware of. The wines will be accompanied by seafood, Iberian ham, Spanish cheese and other local dishes. Apart from this tasting we are able to offer tastings of quality Spanish red and white wines. Group prices are as follows:

- 2 people - 80 euros per person;
- 3 people - 70 euros per person;
- 4 + people - 60 euros per person.

Twice in 2004 we led groups visiting wineries in the north of Spain and both tours were a resounding success. If you are interested in a wine tour to the Rioja and Ribera del Duero regions, please contact us letting us know your requirements and we will design an itinerary especially for you. Groups can be from 2 people upwards.

There will be an introductory and farewell meal in two fine local restaurants. As well there will be tours related to wine, Iberian ham and olive oil. Each of these tours will include a gourmet lunch. There will also be a tapas tour of four of Seville's best bars.

Facility Information:
Classes are given in two locations. One is the kitchen of Ruth Roberts in an open plan apartment. The kitchen is fully equipped. The second location is the kitchen of the Poncio restaurant which is equipped to make anything from the simplest to the most sophisticated dishes.

The minimum cost above is for tapas tour. The maximum cost is for one person non-sharing for the week-long break.
