The college was founded in 1981 to provide high quality education in an informal social atmosphere. We offer English Language and other courses for overseas students and have British students studying for the UK national examinations.
We are a small friendly, fully accredited college situated in elegant, cosmopolitan spa town of Harrogate in a beautiful part of Northern England. It located in safe and attractive surroundings close to extensive parkland and is less than ten minutes walk from town center.
International students have the opportunity to improve their academic subjects as we offer a Link Course, which combines English with GCSE and A level subjects for entrance to university degree and higher degree courses.
Faculty Information:
The teachers are experienced and sympathetic, all have degrees and English Language teaching qualifications. As classes are small students receive a lot of individual attention and make rapid progress. We use communicative teaching techniques, modern course books which are loaned to students, audio, visual and IT equipment.
All the language skills are developed in an active learning environment. Students are tested for their level of English at the beginning of their course and receive a college certificate at the end. David Chippett, the Director of Studies, is a Business English specialist.
Other Activities:
Excursions to places of cultural and historical interest, cinema and theatre visits, 10-pin bowling evenings, discos and parties. Summer: English with sports, activities and excursions. Low cost flights to many European destinations from Leeds-Bradford airport (15 km).
Facility Information:
The college is in a large detached house with 15 classrooms, library, laboratories, self access facilities, computer suite with free broadband Internet access and common room with snack facilities.
