We are an international Spanish school in Quito, Ecuador. The school under European Management is one of the leading language schools in Ecuador. All year round, we offer individual, mini group (1-5 students) and combined classes as regular and intensive courses.
On every Monday of the year new courses are available for all levels. All year round we offer Spanish courses as one-on-one classes or in mini-groups. In addition, we organize internships in all subject areas. Language courses begin weekly on every Monday of the year for all standards: from those aimed at the beginner to those aimed at the professional translator.
The easy-to-understand Spanish of the Ecuadorians facilitates the learning process and enables students to learn Spanish as quickly as is possible. The beauty of Ecuador (Galapagos Islands, tropical rainforest, the Andes) complements the welcoming and warm nature of the people to ensure that you will have an unforgettable stay.
Our school building is located in the center of Quito with a magnificent view of the town and the surrounding mountains. And with its spacious and light classrooms it offers an ideal environment in which to study Spanish. You can relax on our terrace or in our garden during breaks, and if you please you can even take classes outdoors.
- Our courses: To make the selection of the "right course" easier for you, we created an overview for better direction of all the different kinds of course you can take. This overview counts for all schools, whereas the amount of hours and the amount of people in groups can slightly vary. Please gather the correct data from each page of the individual school.
* Group classes - the group courses consists of around 6-12 students with the same language level and is being taught together. In the beginning of the language course you will do an entry level test, to help you to select the exact course and/or group.
* Mini-group-classes - the mini group course is the more intensive course compare to the group courses. There will be about 2-5 students taught together.
* Individual classes - individual classes are the most intensive variety of the language program. The study program aims directly towards your speed of learning. Exactly the way you like. So as a result of this, you're max. amount of flexibility and individual progress will be guaranteed.
* Combination course - in the combination courses, will be (mini-)group-and private lessons together combined. So in the morning you will study together with a (mini-)group and in the afternoon you will have the opportunity to study individually with the Teacher about the aspects of the language, or talk about a subject, which were you have a special interest in.
* Vacation course - this course includes up to 14 lectures per week. So beside your language course you will have enough leisure time to get to know the country and people better.
* Standard course - this course includes 15 to 24 lectures per week. In this connection you will have 4 study lectures in the morning, and afternoon can be your own free time.
* Intensive course - this course includes 25 - 35 lectures per week. E.g. there are 4 lectures in the morning and 2 lectures in the afternoon. Whereas often in the afternoon the emphasis is more on conversation. We recommend "this course" if you would like to learn the language as fast as possible.
* Exam preparation courses - beside the "normal "language course we also offer different kinds of courses to prepare for exams. In those courses you will be prepared for international recognized examinations. The exams are often held subsequent to the course in front of an independent examinator. Some of our partner schools are accredited as centers of examination.
- Standard Levels:
* Beginner - you have no knowledge of this foreign language; Beginner with small basic knowledge - you have only a little knowledge in this foreign language. i.e., you only understand a few words and sentences, and almost no grammatical knowledge;
* Basic knowledge - you understand simple sentences and have simple grammatical basic structures. You can make yourself understandable with simple sentences in everyday life, but have problems once your partner talks faster;
* Advanced - you can communicate relatively smoothly in this foreign language, and possess over good grammatical knowledge. With your knowledge you get around relatively good in every days life;
* High Level of Standard - You can communicate effortlessly in every day's life, and take part on multitude subjects in conversations. However, you do make some mistakes and miss out in compliance with special field vocabulary;
* Fast native speaker - you can communicate with almost no mistakes, and possess the understanding over the complete Grammatic. You talk automatically without thinking first of vocabulary or grammatical rules. Beside this, you have a very good understanding of hearing and reading the language.
- Accommodation: To give you a better orientation how to select the "right accommodation" for you language course, we created an overview for the possible accommodation facility.
- Host family: We recommend accommodation with a hosting family for those people who would like to discover more about country and culture. In addition you will have an excellent opportunity to apply and to improve your language knowledge trough living with your hosting family. The families offer furnished single or double rooms with bathrooms, meals and laundry service. This often results in long lasting affectionate friendships that go far beyond your departure.
- Shared Flat: You will live together with other course members and/or native students in an apartment with 2 or more bedrooms. Kitchen and bathroom have to be shared with other occupants.
- Vacation Apartment: You will live with other course members in an apartment with 2 or more bedrooms. Kitchen and bathroom have to be shared with other occupants.
- Student-Residence: In those residential homes you will have the opportunity to experience an international atmosphere with other students from different nationalities. Single - and double rooms with own bathroom and mostly equipped with a recreational room. Some accommodations are to some degree offered with board and wash facility.
- Apartments: You can get apartments as well with a single and/or apartment with more rooms. The apartments are equipped with a fully kitchen and bathroom.
- Hostel/Youth Hostel: You will live in a hostel/youth hostel together with other language students and tourists from all over the world. You can book depending on hostel a single-, double or one room with multiple beds with private or shared bath/WC. Sometimes you also can make use of a kitchen facility.
- Boarding: Our language students can get boarding as well, depending on the accommodation. Because the food will be prepared after the cooking habits of the country and/or family hostess it can clearly vary and distinguish from the European cuisine. If you have special diet requirements (e.g. diabetic) or vegetarian, please let us know on your application, so the family hostess can make special arrangements.
- Bed linen/Towels: Almost all accommodations provide bed linen. Exceptions are marked on the individual pages from school. We basically recommend to bring your own hand/bath towels.

Faculty Information:
Our school is recognized by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Education. All Intensive courses are recognized as "Bildungsurlaub" by the German Ministries of Education. The school was recommended at the international world fair, EXPO 2000 in Hannover (Germany) as the leading school of the country.
We offer the highest quality Spanish courses due to our experienced teachers.
Other Activities:
Each week the school offers a wide cultural program (Dance classes, lectures, fiestas and other) and interesting excursions around Quito (Equator, Indian Markets, Andes). This allows the students to get a better understanding of the Ecuadorian culture. Usually 2-4 activities are offered per week. The school takes especially care that all students practice their Spanish skills outside classes during the cultural program and in the host family. This allows maximum learning progress.
The following excursions are offered regularly:
- Saquisilí (Indian Market);
- Papallacta (Hot Springs in the Andes);
- Otavalo (Indian Market);
- Cotopaxi (National park);
- Mitad del Mundo (equator and Inca Ruins);
- Baños (small village in the Andes).
Facility Information:
Our school has a central location in the modern part of the capital Quito. The building offers a magnificent view of the whole city and its spacious and light rooms provide an optimal learning environment.
On our terraces and in our garden students can enjoy their breaks or even take their classes outdoors if they wish. The school is well connected to public transports so students can reach the Mariscal district and the old town quickly and easily.
Notes:
Weekly prices range from 69 Euros to 399 Euros per week including accommodation and meals.
Mini group classes, 20 lessons per week:
- 2 weeks: 419 € with host family accommodation and half board;
- 2 weeks: 249 € without accommodation;
- 4 weeks: 689 € with with host family accommodation and half board;
- 4 weeks: 349 € without accommodation.
