Groups are small so each participant can be sure of personalised attention.
The painting week offers students the opportunity to explore the varied facets of the landscape: medieval villages like Minerve and the vineyards around, views from the slopes of Mount Alaric, the garrigue with its wild flowers, herbs and cypresses, and the shady waters of the Canal du Midi, a world heritage site.
Depending on the needs of the individual and the group, classes deal with topics like composition, perspective and colour.
Plein air sessions are mixed with time in the cool and spacious studio.
Mary Horgan attended the Cork School of Art in Ireland, and is a professional artist with galleries in Dublin, Cork and Carcassonne.
She has taught drawing and painting for 15 years.
Students will work in the mornings, leaving the afternoons free to relax, explore or continue painting. The studio is spacious, and is open all day. There are easels, support boards and aprons available. Art supplies should be brought by students themselves.
Outings to markets and mediaeval villages are included.
The week is structured around the needs of each individual. There is an extensive library of art books and magazines relatng to art and artists
