Riana will reveal the technique she developed which is far superior to other concrete methods taught in schools or books. Participants will be working on a transportable piece they can take home such as a small vessel, head planter or birdhouse as examples. These pieces will be built to withstand all climate types.
During the first 2 days students will be creating a multilayered form which will be covered with cement, at the end of the second day, in addition Riana will be teaching you the techniques of structural strength for larger pieces such as statuary, benches, fountains, archways, etc. For the last 2 days participants will learn the basic skills of mosaic tiling and grouting on their cemented piece.

Wouterina (Riana) de Raad - Dutch born folk artist Wouterina ( Riana ) de Raad , who's award winning sculptures have been featured on Public TV, Good Morning America , Rebecca's Garden Show and numerous publications such as Midwest Living, Country Gardens, Folk Art Messenger among others.

Hacienda Mosaico is an expansive, tropical and artful retreat in the beautiful beach resort of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Facility Information:
Tile can be purchased at the Hacienda and a tile shop near by, there are pebbles of all sizes to be found on the beach and there is also plenty of broken mirror and glass around, but please bring any of your own treasures to tile with plus a pair of gloves that are part rubber for the cementing and grouting. All other materials and tools will be provided.
