Paella is, of course, Valencia’s star dish, though its unquestionable fame and international recognition have turned it more into a Spanish icon than a regional specialty.
But beyond the significance of a single recipe, Paella represents a traditional technique for cooking endless preparations, combining rice with the most varied ingredients; there’s arroz a banda (with seafood served on the side) arroz negro (black rice – darkened by the ink of the squid that goes into it) arroz meloso or caldoso (when it is “soupier”), rice with vegetables, seafood, meats, or all of them together...
With this in mind, we are certain that any foodie visiting the area will be delighted to learn the secrets of preparing the perfect Paella… and why not other local specialties, like Esgarraet (traditional salad with peppers and cod) or delicious Valencia oranges filled with crème caramel?
Treat yourself to an exclusive, hands-on cooking class at a prestigious private cooking school, located in the heart of town, with a fabulous shop where you can find anything and everything for your kitchen.
