The farmhouse Il testimonio is located in Chianti, the heart of Tuscany. The closest towns are Certaldo and Barberino Val d’Elsa (8 Km). Florence ,Siena and Pisa are also at a close distance (respectively, 35, 40 and 60 Km).
The owner organizes transfers from and to airports (Pisa, Florence, Rome), besides excursions with personal drivers, car rental or fast taxi services. The nearest rail station is Certaldo (10 minutes drive), well connected to the center of Florence, Siena and Pisa.
COOKING SCHOOL
Guests are invited to take part to all kitchen activities, from shopping in local food marketplaces to cooking the most famous Italian meals based on fresh and seasonal ingredients. Maria Teresa, an excellent cook herself, guides them on every step of preparation, showing her special tricks to personalize even the simplest dishes. Everyday, the “kitchen group” cooks together a special dinner for all the guests of the house. The participation in the kitchen activities is optional, and takes about 3 hours every afternoon.
Il Testimonio is the perfect location for family meetings, seminary groups or corporate teams vacation.
The entire farmhouse is at their disposal, and workshops groups may use a large and sunny studio for their activities.
The house is especially appropriate for group events, workshops or seminars, such as corporate team meetings,
yoga, dance, photography, painting, fresco painting and music. It is also possible to arrange courses with local artists.

Facility Information:
Il Testimonio is a 17th century country house of about 800 sqm that has been lovingly renovated over the last years. The original structure of the old farmhouse has been maintained and today it results in large bedrooms - the same where in the past whole farmer families used to sleep - and in spacious common rooms. The materials are those used in the past, terracotta, wood and local stone. The outcome is a beautiful, cosy, authentic farmhouse, that transports imagination back in the past.
There are nine double bedrooms with bathrooms, one large dining room with traditional fireplace, two well-equipped kitchens (one available for guests). In the old stable block, a wonderful arched room for dining and relaxing together.
Il testimonio lays on the top of a hill, surrounded by olive trees, vineyards and cypresses: the garden offers several points for meeting and relaxing, with incredible views from dawn to sunset…
