Join us in Spain for a wonderful culinary vacation where you will learn how to cook delicious Catalan dishes with daily hands-on classes in our relaxed yet luxurious private hotel in the small village of El Masroig.
Our school is located in the small village of El Masroig, in the Priorat region of Spain, only 80 miles from Barcelona. We offer 3 and 6-day sessions of hands-on Catalan cooking, visits to some of the best wineries with wine tastings, a professional olive oil tasting session and the discovery of this beautiful and unspoilt region so reminiscent of Tuscany. To keep our quality high, we only cater to a maximum of 6 guests. Our private boutique hotel cooking school has 3 luxurious double bedrooms with private bathrooms, high speed internet, temperature controlled wine cellar, wine tasting room, guest room, al fresco dining garden, 2 fire places, and is fully climate controlled year round. Our prices include absolutely everything except the airfare. Catalan cuisine is a form of cooking that still closely reflects its medieval origins. Occupied for nearly seven hundred years by the Romans, followed by several centuries of the Visigoths, and then four hundred years by the Moors, the influences were certainly varied. We will take you on a wine tour of some of the Priorat's best wineries where the wine tastings and the one-on-one wine presentations and winery visits will allow you to discover what makes the Priorat wines so fabulous and reknown. Here, we put a great emphasis on allowing our guests to discover the great wines of the Priorat region. We do this by making multiple visits to some of the areas best wineries where the owners or the enologist take us around to visit the vineyards, show us the details of their winery and how they make their wines, and provide us with a complete wine tasting. These presentations are very one-on-one and are done with great enthusiasm by all of the wineries. They are extremely informative as to the whole process of wine making, and one comes away with an excellent knowledge of how the wines of this region are made and the philosophy behind. Let us show you the beauty of this unspoilt and yet-to-be discovered region of Spain.
