At the Dublin School of English we pride ourselves on giving a complete and quality service to our clients. Our wide variety of English Courses are designed to help with all aspects of English and are offered both full-time and part-time. Included in all our courses as standard and at no extra charge are lessons in English at 7 different levels, textbooks&course materials, information&welcome pack, CO-Curricular Tour&Social Programme, attendance certificate, all registration fees, internet access and access to our listening library, book library and private study rooms.
Our Standard English Courses include up to 24 lessons per week with host family, hostel or bed&breakfast accommodation available. All courses are designed to help with all aspects of English including conversion, comprehension, reading, listening and written work.
Our Junior Programmes are geared toward the needs of the younger learner. Most popular in the summer months, they are a combination of English language classes, tours, sports and activities. These programmes are staffed by dedicated personnel and include arrival& departure transfers to/from Dublin Airport. Students can choose between twin room host family or residential accommodation.
Our wide variety of Intensive Courses are very popular at the Dublin School of English. We are are highly experienced in dealing with the executive learner and our executive teaching team is one of the leading ESP/Executive teaching staff world-wide. We specialise in General English, English for law, engineering, finance, sales, politics, medical purposes, English for the military and many other fields. Comprehensive needs-analysis tests can be conducted by our Director of Studies prior to the students arrival on request.
Our 3rd Age Courses are especially designed for the 50+ age group. The course places a large emphasis on English Language Practice with opportunities to explore Dublin and Ireland's unique cultural heritage. This tailor-made programme is designed to be flexible and to respond to the needs of each group, focusing on particular group interests such as Irish music, history, architecture and nature. It is designed to create a relaxed atmosphere where all involved will enjoy learning and practising English.
We have a highly trained team of tutors experienced in Teaching English as a Foreign Language(TEFL) and English for Special Purposes(ESP). All have a minimum of a University Degree and a TEFL Diploma and many have several years experience working abroad. Others combine their specialised Master Degrees and their TEFL Diploma and work on our Executive Teaching Team.
On our Standard Courses the average number of students in a group is 12, with a maximum of 15. On other courses, numbers in a group vary according to the course selected. Groups of two, three or four people are available. We also have a wide range of Individual Courses where tuition is on a one-to-one basis.
Our main school is situated in the centre of Dublin in the Temple Bar area. It is ideally located for exploring Dublin's cultural and social life. During the summer months we also use St.Andrews College in Booterstown. A short train ride from our city centre school, this campus is by the beach and is home to our junior programmes and summer school.
A wide variety of accommodation options are available through the Dublin School of English including host families, residences, B&B, hotels and hostels. Host families always prove a very popular option. All are hand picked, inspected and monitored by the schools highly trained and experienced Accommodation Department.
