Faculty Information:
Alison Pullen studied at the Royal College of Art and works as an artist in London. Alison always works in 'situ', starting and finishing the painting in the room itself.

This technique Alison uses has taken years to perfect but the result is one that is original and unique. All her paintings have a strong sense of atmosphere and place.

Alison's work has been exhibited widely and she has been recently commissioned to paint The Throne Room, Buckingham Palace. Her works hang in the Royal Collection.

Coombe Farm Studios and Gallery are situated is an area of outstanding natural beauty one mile from the villageof Dittisham on the river Dart, surrounded by beautiful countryside of rolling hills and woodland and only a few miles from the sea.

You will arrive in a tranquil valley surrounded by rolling hills and woodland where we have converted stone barns into studios and workshops around a Provencal courtyard, a great location for painting and for alfresco meals and barbeques when the weather is fine.

It is a wonderful place for a creative and relaxing holiday where as well as joining a course there are opportunities for yourselves or non painting partners to sail or fish on one of the most beautiful rivers in England, play golf or go riding. There are historic towns and villages to explore and wonderful coastal walks and beaches all within easy reach.

Facility Information:
Coombe Farm Barn is a converted long barn in the Coombe valley just one mile outside the village of Dittisham by the River Dart in South Devon. The barn consists of eleven bedrooms - two double, one twin and eight single rooms which can sleep up to fourteen people.

Although we no longer farm, we do keep chickens to provide us with free range eggs and grd grow many of our vegetables. Our neighbor’s sheep graze our fields, ducks enjoy the stream and white doves from the adjoining hotel fly overhead. All provide for immediate subject matter for painting and drawing and fresh produce for meals which are taken “al fresco” when the sun shines.

Prices are per person and are payable in Great British Pounds only.

We reserve the right to cancel courses if undersubscribed. However, as course groups are kept small this rarely happens. Should you wish to participate in a course for less than the advertised time, this may be possible depending on the course structure.
