Fee includes: cocktail the first evening, 7 nights in a double room, 7 breakfasts, 4 light snacks at lunch time, 7 dinners (typical Tuscan cuisine , wine included), 6 days of lessons (acrylic colors, brushes, paper, canvases, use of easels and chairs included), including art appreciation course - art history and painting excursions:
- one day painting excursion to Volterra and a visit to Etruscan Museum.
- afternoon excursion to San Gimignano, guided tour of the town with the visit of the cathedral and explanation of 14 th century frescos.
- one whole day trekking painting excursion to Castel Vecchio, a city abandon in the 13th century in the middle of the woods,
- second whole day excursion across little towns of Tuscany, a visit to two museums with Tuscan paintings in the town of Siena: Palazzo Publico (Town Palace), the Cathedral rich with works of Michelangelo and Donatello, Piccolomini Library with frescos of Pintoricchio. In the afternoon we will be painting at fortified little hill top town of Monteriggioni.
- afternoon trekking excursion to Montauto, an ancient hill top town on the Franchigena road.
Faculty Information:
Tjasa Demsar is organizing and holding her workshops since 1996. She has an international backgrownd, lived, studied and worked in many countries as Italy, France, the Netherlands, England and US. Besides holding painting workshops she is also an internationally acclaimed artist as well as a buisness woman, owning a villa in the Wine Country of Slovenia where she has a Bed & Breakfast and an Artist retreat.
Other Activities:
Emphasis will be put on perception and observation, as the bases to painting. I will help you develop your personal outlook, as well as inspire your imagination in all this magical places and to help you appreciate art to the full. We will paint 4 hours every morning.
You may work on sketches for the first few days, and than proceed
to more accomplished works derived from these last. Or you may simply paint two or three works a day. If for some reason, you want to wonder and explore the territory during these days, you are pleased to do so.
We will meet again in the evening, discuss the work done during the day and see numerous slides of contemporary and modern art.
Facility Information:
We will be living in castles, villas and farm houses, depending on which workshop you decide to join. Painting will be "en plein air". In the evenings we will see slides of contemporary and modern art.
