The owner and operator of the hunting lodge is a lifetime resident of the area he hunts in Manitoba. He takes great pride in the outfitting business, with a goal of lasting memories for each and every hunter. With over 1.3 million exclusive acres to operate in, they maintain an excellent success rate on black bear. Carefully located bait sites guarantee sightings at close range for both bow and rifle hunters. Spring and fall hunting are both very successful. Portable tree stands placed over active baits ensure you daily action. Bears over 500 pounds are taken here annually.
The North Interlake region is tops for opportunities for trophy whitetail. Hunting the area for nearly 30 years, they have a great insight to locations of trophy bucks. Hunts take place in heated portable stands, that are located on the fringe of agriculture. Moose hunts are conducted in remote northern areas accessible only by aircraft. The hunts take place during the rut to maximize hunter opportunities for both bow and rifle hunters alike. Excellent walleye and pike fishing is available during these hunts as most calling is done in the early morning and late evenings.
This lodge offers limited genuine wilderness hunts for whitetail and black bear. The reason the term limited is used, is because they are in a provincial park. The Whiteshell Park is over 100 square miles. Their present quota is 8 black bear and 12 whitetail deer.
They also refer to their hunts as genuine, as they are in the wild and removed from civilization to a great extent. They are not for the game farm or passive hunter. The terrain is demanding and the animals are unaccustomed to human presence. Also non-resident hunting was implemented only about 5 years ago, providing them a good population of bears over 400 pounds and whitetail in the 140 to 160 class range. Committed and serious hunters only.
Manitoba has been one of the top producers of trophy bucks in the western provinces. Attention to stand locations in remote unpopulated areas where the animals are unpressured provides excellent success rates. Camp locations are hunted for only two weeks in order to maintain high scoring bucks. Hunters have had great success with rattling, grunt calls and scent lines on stand sites. It's not only the high scoring racks that are drawing hunters to this area, but the heavy antler mass and body weights that keep hunters returning year after year.
