Our Florida sailing lessons offer a wide variety of options and sailing destinations. This allows our students to learn while enjoying the natural beauty of Northwest Florida and the Florida Emerald Coast. Our feature sailing lesson is our Instant Bareboater sailing lesson. This is a week long live aboard class for those preparing to bareboat charter. Our Instant Bareboater sailing instruction covers the material in American Sailing Association 101, 103, and 104 and is designed to prepare the student to live aboard a sailing vessel during a charter or extended cruising. No prior sailing experience is necessary to take these sailing lessons. We have specially augmented the ASA curriculum with our proprietary study guide to help our students master the sailing text. The class begins on Saturday’s at 4 pm. Then, after sailing around the Florida Enerald coast for a week, we complete the sailing instruction the following Friday afternoon. Successful completion of this class provides bareboat charter certification.

At our sailing school, we believe the best way to learn how to sail is to spend time sailing the boat, so our sailing lessons emphasize time on the water working on boat handling, safety procedures, and emergency precautions. We will also cover basic engine maintenance and boat systems, electrical systems and the information necessary to plan trips, provision and live aboard. The class is “all-inclusive” meaning that the pricing includes all onboard expenses, including meals and (non-alcoholic) beverages.

For those looking for shorter sailing lessons, we offer the Instant Cruiser sailing instruction. This is a weekend course covering certification testing at the ASA 101 and 103 levels. These sailing lessons are designed to prepare students to safely day charter as either captain or crew. Our Instant Cruiser sailing instruction begins Friday evening and ends on Sunday afternoon. We typically sail during the day on the Emerald Coast near our home sailing base in Panama City, Florida, returning to the dock in the evening. As with all sailing instruction, our focus is on-water sailing skills and safe boat handling.

Also in Florida, we also offers individual ASA certification courses in Basic Keelboat, Basic Sailing, Bareboat Chartering, Coastal Navigation, Advanced Sailing and Celestial Navigation. These classes are scheduled at student request.
