A 1 or 2 weeks Spanish course of 4 lessons of 45 minutes per day from Monday to Friday (09.00 - 12.15 h) allows you to complement language study in the mornings with two guided mountain bike routes during the afternoons (for all levels). Group size: from 1 to 2 students.
Granada is surrounded by magnificent mountains and several natural parks. On our mountain bike tours you will discover landscapes and the rich culture of Granada Province.
On a half-day ride we get above the city and into the favourite biking spot of the local granadinos. We descend into the cave district of Sacramonte where Flamenco clubs and tapas bars inhabit the hillside and great views of the Alhambra are promised.
A second option for a half-day ride is a route in the Sierra de Huetor natural park - the smaller sibling of Sierra Nevada. From here, we are treated to the best views of the high Sierra and its north face, which is covered in snow much of the year. This ride is rolling through pine and oak forests.
Spanish classes are held from Monday to Friday, the school being closed on Saturdays and Sundays. The level groups have a maximum of 8 students. The minimum age of students is 15 years; students younger than 18 years need written authorization from their parents.
Starting dates for all levels of Spanish and mountain biking: every Monday
There are no Spanish classes on national and local holidays. These classes are not recoverable; except in the case of 1 week courses and Individual Courses.
Our aim is to create a lively and stimulating relationship between teachers and students. The warm and sociable atmosphere ensures fast improvement within a short period of time. Our permanent teaching team is responsible for the entire Spanish course programme, managed and directed by the coordinator. All of our teachers are native speakers with University degrees, and specialized in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. They also participate in teacher training courses in Spain on a regular basis, in order to be able to use the latest teaching methods and materials.
A Spanish course in Spain: learning a new foreign language also means learning about a different culture and way of life:
-Conferences concerning present-day topics of interest or Moorish culture.
-Film sessions dedicated to particular Spanish directors.
-Visits to the Arabic bath Hammam Al Andalus.
-Theatre and flamenco concerts.
-Guided tours to the Alhambra or the old Moorish quarter of the Albaicín.
-Trips to villages in the surrounding area, or to the beach.
-Trekking and horse-riding in the Sierra Nevada.
-Practical cooking courses to learn about Mediterranean cuisine.
-Oliveoil Tours to Nigüelas.
-Guided visit to St. Joseph's cemetery.
-Matches of the Granada Club de Fútbol.
-Cultural activities related to Federico García Lorca.
Guided day trips
On the weekends we offer full-day excursions in Andalusia. Day trips to Ronda, Seville, Cordoba, the Costa Tropical or the Alpujarra mountains are offered.
Guided day hikes
If you want to go hiking, you can take part in the guided hikes of the provider Sierra & Sol. Under the direction of Teresa Madrona Moreno, day trips are offered on the weekends in the Sierra Nevada national park or in the natural parks of our province.
