First-time visitors to Africa might think of giving Zambia a miss because it isn’t as well-known for safaris as other countries on the continent but you will have the holiday of a life-time here. Zambia has 20 National Parks and over 30 game reserves; walking safaris are very popular (with a guide and an armed ranger) and canoe safaris will give you the chance to see the myriad wildlife coming to drink on the Upper and Lower Zambezi River. If you don’t fancy walking or floating along the river, mobile safaris will take you deep into the country-side in comfortable vehicles – just don’t forget your camera! Of course, Zambia is famous for the Victoria Falls where you can practise several water activities above and below the Falls.
