Our Academy is an Italian language, arts, music and culture school right in the center of historic Florence, just between the Duomo and the Piazza della Republica. We have experienced teachers and a method that enables the students to learn in the classroom and practice the Italian language at the cultural and recreational activities with a friendly and familiar climate. We also organize for the music and arts students, concerts, shows and exhibits, both within the school and also in renowned theaters, churches and other locations.

The School is recognized by some of the most important organizations, such as: Fiyto (Federation of International Youth Travel Organizations); Alto (Association of Language Travel Organizations); EduItalia, an association of the Italian language schools; Bildungsurlaub, German government recognition; CSN, Swedish government. Besides our recognized teaching quality, our school also offers special deals with universities making it possible the acquisition of academic credits.

Faculty Information:
Our fully qualified and highly trained instructors are continuously updated on the most modern methods and research in the field of language teaching, assuring a constant awareness of its functional aspects as well as the guidelines for a natural and active learning of the Italian language. From the very first day of class, students are put into the condition of being able to acquire the language by "using" the language actively to deal with common, everyday situations, to learn specific vocabulary and expressions and apply the correct grammatical functions.

Our music and art teachers are selected by Rodolfo Tommasi. Since 1964 Rodolfo has been involved in cultural journalism, writing about literary works, music and theater for newspapers and magazines (in 1964 he began writing for "Il Ponte"); from 1970 to 1997 he worked for the RAI, at GR3. His research revolves mostly around literature and music and their correlation. He selects the teachers among renowned professionals.

Other Activities:
Cultural and Recreational Activities:
Aside from regular courses our school offers a rich program of optional language and cultural activities (concerts, seminars, films, visits to museums and farms, language games) as well as extra-curricular and recreational activities (parties, dinners, food and wine tasting, sports, etc.) which are offered every week to ensure not only the enjoyment and cultural fulfillment of the students, but also to encourage them to practice the language in all of its aspects.

Students going on a field trip:
These activities are fundamental in contributing to the creation of a comfortable and memorable atmosphere that intertwines students, teachers and staff and helps the constant monitoring of the progress of each student individually.

We want our students to be comfortable; to feel as if they were at home, and in order to do so, we offer many free services that they are welcome to use:
Cinema, Art Exhibits, Concerts and Theater

The staff provides the students with an accurate information service regarding the most important cultural events taking place during their stay, both within Florence and around Italy. Upon request, the school can also provide the service of reserving tickets, often obtaining reduced-price tickets when there are enough students to form a group.

An Evening at the Opera:
Outings and excursions to see the most prestigious productions are regularly organized during the Opera season and festivals (Puccini Festival, Arena di Verona, Rossini Festival, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, etc.).

The use of a piano is available to students who wish to practice their study of the instrument or to study their vocal repertoire.
Chorus and Orchestra. Our school actively collaborates with a chorus and a 40 piece orchestra. As long as it is compatible with programmed concerts, interested students may participate in their rehearsals, even for short periods of time.

Free Internet:
The students of our school are welcome to use the computers in the lab, free of charge, to navigate the web, write and receive email, as well as use the office applications installed.

The staff can provide students wishing to practice a sport with information about sports clubs, gyms, dance lessons, and playing fields. The school also organizes afternoon sport activities (soccer, volleyball, basketball), as well as a chance to see professional matches.

Student Card:
A school ID card will allow students to receive special discounts in selected stores, bars, restaurants, wine shops, bookstores, music stores, theaters and music halls.

Facility Information:
Our students can choose from among the following types of accommodations:

Private Apartment:
This is the best option for those who want to be completely autonomous and free to host friends and family. All apartments are furnished and equipped with kitchen utensils.

Student Apartment:
This option allows students to share an apartment with other students (foreign and Italian). Apartments are well equipped and furnished.

Living with an Italian family is a good way to practice the language and experience the Italian way of life. All families are used to hosting foreign students and willing to share with you their daily routines and traditions

Other Solutions:
It is also possible to reserve accommodations in pensions, hotels, residence or religious institutions.

Housing Arrivals Service:
Worried about arrival at your housing option? Would you like someone to accompany you to the apartment, family or hotel?

Our School provides a Housing Arrivals Service for students who request it at the time of Enrollment.
