“Thank you very much for an outstanding and spectacular experience - and to know you Julia. You took the breath from me in all your knowledge about the history of St. Petersburg. I am very satisfied spending all my days at your private at your friendly house and accomodation. I am very interested in history - and I am happy to learn a lot of the European eastern part. Even the smallest details was not overlooked... Everybody interested in St.Petersburg will do the wisest choice to have Julia as personal guide while in town. “

"Julia is amazing. I met her on a travel web site, and decided to spend a day with her when I was in Russia for two weeks. Now I am wishing I had devoted more of my time to spend with her instead of navigating on my own! I had some pretty obscure literary interests - not the usual beaten-path sites - and she worked hard to design a day that would include all my desired stops. She also did a lot of research and preparation beforehand, which added to my experience and made me feel like everything, was catered just to me. Last but not least, she is just plain fun to hang out with! I really recommend her as a guide and as a friend."

Questions and Answers
We sell not tours but impressions and happy recollections

1. How long has the business been operating and how did it start?

I have been in guiding business for more than 16 years. My main profession was pharmacy, but I always arranged excursions for my group mates (when I was a student) to the museums and even to different cities in former Soviet Union since fine arts and history always were my hobbies, so at last after finishing Moscow Institute of translators and special courses for guide - interpreters I became a professional guide. And it seems to me my choice was right one as recently a client of mine wrote that "I am sure you were a good pharmacist but I have to say your true calling is introducing travelers to your beautiful city"

2. What is your company's mission?

To make people from different countries closer to each other, by getting them interested in the culture and history of my native country and city. In course of time I made a conclusion that people are the same everywhere: with the same troubles, dreams, joys, fears, expectations and love to their dearest and nearest. The only difference between us is our governments.

3. What does your company specialize in?

My company specializes in helping you to put your dream into life, but if to speak more seriously (though the above idea is true since many of our clients told us that trip to St Petersburg was their dream) we arrange cultural and everyday life tours in St Petersburg, Russia for small groups of clients. Since I am a professional guide and my husband is a driver (with a/c Mercedes Viano) you have a unique chance to get in touch with a real local family and ask us any questions about everyday life (our daughter’s holy duty is to accompany you to the theatre or to some evening event). The perfect variant for us is a family group of 4 (it is usually parents with teenagers but sometimes just 4 friends). However I can arrange everything for much bigger groups (I worked with groups of 40-50 people).

4. Who is the founder or owner of the company and briefly describe his/her past activities?

My name is Julia Ivanushkina and I am the owner of officially registred (our register number is MBT 006852)"M11270". As I mentioned above I worked as a pharmacist (so you are in reliable hands if something is wrong with your health).

5. What is your most popular travel package and why?

Two day visa free package for cruise passengers since most of my clients are cruise passengers, and they usually wish to see as much as possible during two short days (not sometimes even not realizing how many museums and sites of interest we have in St. Petersburg) their ship is in St Petersburg. Besides a lunch with Russian family is a highlight of any tour since lunch itself is only a pretext to discuss everything under the sun after having a plate of hot BORSCH with a traditional short of Vodka (and this is only the beginning). My walking tour along Nevsky prospect when we get inside many buildings is popular as well the tour of Siege memorial which impresses many: sometimes people know nothing about heroic deeds and sufferings of St. Petersburg citizens during WWII. I am planning to arrange a "A day with Peter the Great" tour as well (based on Peter Massie’ "Peter the Great" historical novel).

6. What is the best compliment you received from a client?

"You put our dream about St. Petersburg into life and spoiled us by taking care of us so well - we never met a guide like you".

1  Kristine and Brad Sturgill / St Petersburg visit 5-6 September 2011
Julia, Just wanted to take a minute to thank you again for the wonderful tour you gave us of St. Petersburg. We enjoyed every minute of the tour and seeing the beauty of the city as well as learning of the rich history of the city. This has definitely sparked a new interest in Russian history! I went to the Palace at Peterhof gardens and was stuck between a spanish tour group and a private tour behind me with an english speaking guide. After eaves dropping on the english guide even for just a couple of rooms I ... view more realized even more how lucky we were to find you! Her descriptions lacked enthusiasm and were very superficial. Thank you again for showing us your city.

2  Ben Hoogstede / St Petersburg visit 20-21 August 2011. by Rotterdam cruise ship
We have enjoyed Julia as our host and guide in St. Petersburg very, very much. Without her knowledge of the city and its highlights, experienced guiding and her humor St. Petersburg would not have been so beautiful as we have experienced it now. Also her knowledge of art and history is a perfect combination. I cannot imagine that there can be a better guide than "our" Julia. Thank you very much and we can and will recommend you to anyone who is going to visit your beautiful city.

3  Rebecca and Beverley Nabors / St Petersburg visit 1 August, by Norvegian Sun cruise ship
Dear Julia,
We are now at home and wanted to take this opportunity to thank you again for such a great tour. Looking at our photos and reminiscing about our trip, it is hard to believe we saw so much in such a short period of time. Your choice of sites, pacing, English language expertise, and expert knowledge of Russia and its history provided us with an unforgettable time in St. Petersburg! You provided such a wealth of information in a way that was narrative and entertaining, and not just overwhelming ... view more facts that are easily forgotten. We still remember it! This definitely helps us appreciate all our photos. Thank you. If you ever travel to the United States and are able to visit California, we would love to be your "unofficial" tour guide. You were so personable during our St. Petersburg tour, I felt as though we were friends. Our homes are welcome to you. We sincerely hope our paths will cross sometime in the future. Please keep in touch.

4  Lyn Pond / St Petersburg visit on 22-25 July 2011( Nevsky Palace Hotel)
Dear Julia, I am writing to thank you so much for your welcome and enthusiasm. I have wanted to visit St Petersburg since I was a little girl of 10 helping to make sea socks, and raising funds for the relief of the siege of Leningrad. Now you, having shared your wealth of knowledge about, and love of, your beautiful city have made my dream a reality. Anyone visiting St Petersburg needs a professional guide to help make the most of their time as there is so much to see, and we were so lucky to have you, a guide ... view more steeped in the history of your city speaking fluent English, making the past come alive for us. I recommend you as a guide "par excellence" with an excellent driver to help you show us the "sights".
Kind regards,
Lyn Pond Shropshire, England

5  Pamela and Dale Cantwell / St Petersburg visit on 16-20 July 2011( stayed at Pushka Inn )
I wanted to write to thank you again for showing us St. Petersburg. I’m certain you were a very good pharmacist, but I have to say your true calling is introducing travelers to your beautiful city. We travel a great deal and have never met a guide with such knowledge, energy and enthusiasm for her city. I got in touch again with the sheer pleasure of seeing art, and your explanations of the paintings and sculpture added immeasurably to all of our enjoyment. I’m especially glad we got a chance to see the ... view more Russian Museum on the final day. Please use me as a reference anytime. Thanks so much and give Vladimir a hug for me.

Most unsual request fielded with precision. For a.2212tudend of 20th century Soviet Union, Julia arranged a personal tour covering Lenin's arrival, review of Soviet politics, house of Kirov, Sts P & P Cathedral where Peter the Great was buried, & a rushed morning to try to taste a bit of the Hermitage. Three intense days for a person with little time and intense, catholic interests. The ultimate value is her creating a three day tour based on what my interests were and and what I wanted to see and ... view more what she believed that I should take away from her beloved Petersburg.

We used Julia’s services as a part of a brief stay in St Petersburg from the 29th of December 08 until the 1st of January 09. We’re really glad we made use of a professional guide. There is so much to see in St Petersburg and without Julia’s help we would have only seen a small fraction. She was extremely professional and her numerous anecdotes and stories really added to the whole experience. She has a deep knowledge on Tsarist history, Russian literature & culture, World War 2, Revolutionary events ... view more and she provides first hand insights into the massive changes that have taken place since the early 1990’s. We would happily recommend her services to anyone considering a trip to St Petersburg.

Julia & Vladimir: thank you. You made our visit to St. Petersburg a total success. Every step along the way was in response to our individual interests and your knowledge of all and any aspects or interests in and around St. Petersburg is exceptional. Your restaurant recommendations were precise and good, and nobody felt lost although we didn't understand a word of Russian. All best wishes from André, Sonia, Sophie & Stefan

My 2 teenaged children and I visited S.P. last summer and loved our time with Julia. My teens, who can be difficult, thought Julia was the best guide we had in Russia. Julia arranged for our train tickets to Moscow and showed us the incredible sights of Saint Petersberg. Please feel free to use me as a reference.
