“Thank you very much for an outstanding and spectacular experience - and to know you Julia. You took the breath from me in all your knowledge about the history of St. Petersburg. I am very satisfied spending all my days at your private at your friendly house and accomodation. I am very interested in history - and I am happy to learn a lot of the European eastern part. Even the smallest details was not overlooked... Everybody interested in St.Petersburg will do the wisest choice to have Julia as personal guide while in town. “
"Julia is amazing. I met her on a travel web site, and decided to spend a day with her when I was in Russia for two weeks. Now I am wishing I had devoted more of my time to spend with her instead of navigating on my own! I had some pretty obscure literary interests - not the usual beaten-path sites - and she worked hard to design a day that would include all my desired stops. She also did a lot of research and preparation beforehand, which added to my experience and made me feel like everything, was catered just to me. Last but not least, she is just plain fun to hang out with! I really recommend her as a guide and as a friend."
1. How long has the business been operating and how did it start?
I have been in guiding business for more than 16 years. My main profession was pharmacy, but I always arranged excursions for my group mates (when I was a student) to the museums and even to different cities in former Soviet Union since fine arts and history always were my hobbies, so at last after finishing Moscow Institute of translators and special courses for guide - interpreters I became a professional guide. And it seems to me my choice was right one as recently a client of mine wrote that "I am sure you were a good pharmacist but I have to say your true calling is introducing travelers to your beautiful city"
2. What is your company's mission?
To make people from different countries closer to each other, by getting them interested in the culture and history of my native country and city. In course of time I made a conclusion that people are the same everywhere: with the same troubles, dreams, joys, fears, expectations and love to their dearest and nearest. The only difference between us is our governments.
3. What does your company specialize in?
My company specializes in helping you to put your dream into life, but if to speak more seriously (though the above idea is true since many of our clients told us that trip to St Petersburg was their dream) we arrange cultural and everyday life tours in St Petersburg, Russia for small groups of clients. Since I am a professional guide and my husband is a driver (with a/c Mercedes Viano) you have a unique chance to get in touch with a real local family and ask us any questions about everyday life (our daughter’s holy duty is to accompany you to the theatre or to some evening event). The perfect variant for us is a family group of 4 (it is usually parents with teenagers but sometimes just 4 friends). However I can arrange everything for much bigger groups (I worked with groups of 40-50 people).
4. Who is the founder or owner of the company and briefly describe his/her past activities?
My name is Julia Ivanushkina and I am the owner of officially registred (our register number is MBT 006852)"M11270". As I mentioned above I worked as a pharmacist (so you are in reliable hands if something is wrong with your health).
5. What is your most popular travel package and why?
Two day visa free package for cruise passengers since most of my clients are cruise passengers, and they usually wish to see as much as possible during two short days (not sometimes even not realizing how many museums and sites of interest we have in St. Petersburg) their ship is in St Petersburg. Besides a lunch with Russian family is a highlight of any tour since lunch itself is only a pretext to discuss everything under the sun after having a plate of hot BORSCH with a traditional short of Vodka (and this is only the beginning). My walking tour along Nevsky prospect when we get inside many buildings is popular as well the tour of Siege memorial which impresses many: sometimes people know nothing about heroic deeds and sufferings of St. Petersburg citizens during WWII. I am planning to arrange a "A day with Peter the Great" tour as well (based on Peter Massie’ "Peter the Great" historical novel).
6. What is the best compliment you received from a client?
"You put our dream about St. Petersburg into life and spoiled us by taking care of us so well - we never met a guide like you".
