Our 4-6 day sightseeing cruises and fishing charters are Captained and hosted by the owner of the company, David Pinquoch, a 45 year Alaska resident. Our 50' yacht was designed and built for North Pacific waters making travel pleasant. Our custom cruises in Prince William Sound are without a doubt, one of the best adventures Alaska has to offer. With 6 passengers maximum families, 2-3 couples or 4-6 fishing buddies get the whole boat to themselves which allows us to cater the trip to your interests.
We also have a 40' boat that carries up to 18 passengers on day trips and is also available for multi-day trips for up to 6 passengers at a significantly lower rate than our 50' luxury yacht. Our goal, to provide you - "Adventures beyond Expectations".
1. How long has the business been operating and how did it start?
We've been in business since 1991. The original intention was simply to offer enough charters to pay for the cost of owning a boat. Over the years business grew, the economy changed which changed the dynamics of our clients and now I have 2 boats, one that offers high end multiday trips andone that offers day trips and more economical multiday trips, although with less comfort.
2. What is your company's mission?
Our goal always has been to provide "adventures beyond expectations." We do not hype up what we offer to the point that we can't deliver - being honest with people has cost us a few charters over the years, but our customer satisfaction more than makes up for it.
3. What does your company specialize in?
Custom combination fishing and sightseeing trips for families or groups of 4-6 are our specialty. The beauty of Prince William Sound and the wildlife is worth the trip alone, the fishing is an awesome bonus, both in the fun of fishing and being able to go home with well cared for Alaskan salmon and halibut.
4. Who is the founder or owner of the company and briefly describe his/her past activities?
Me, David Pinquoch - the founder of M13460. I was raised in Alaska and from the time I was five years old fished the streams, lakes and coasts of Alaska. When I was twelve years old my parents bought a house and two boats on Wasilla Lake and boating became a common activity for me in the summer. As the years went by I got better and better both at boating skills and fishing skills. The years of experience I have boating and fishing made going into the boat charter business relatively simple. I am also lucky enough to have exceptional eye sight and this is often a great benefit to my clients. There are times when I spot animals like whales literally miles away or animals on the beach. That's just something you can't learn and is a great benefit on sightseeing trips.
5. What is your most popular travel package and why?
I would have to say our most popular travel package is a toss up between our 4-6 day live aboard fishing charters and our 4-6 day sightsee/fish combination charters. We get more repeat business from fishing charters as they come back both for the enjoyment of fishing and taking home a lot of fish. Most people who experience our combo sightsee/fishing charters come only one or two times, but often go away knowing it was the trip of a lifetime. Spending 4-5 days with us on Prince William Sound and doing a 3 day package tour into Denali Park is a perfect first time Alaska travel package - we can help set that up for you. You get to see the best of Alaska's coastal beauty and marine wildlife and Alaska's interior and wildlife in one trip.
6. What is the best compliment you received from a client?
"David, you have no idea what you have here," I've heard this more than once but the reasons are basically the same. The reference is to the feeling of having the world to ourselves. Being able to take people out on Prince William Sound, one of the most beautiful places on the planet, with very little sign of mans intrusions and at times being the only boat around, the only people fishing in a stream, abundant wildlife, protected waters, and for some an awesome boat and great service. I am often asked if I ever get tired of it. I have to say being on the water, seeing the beauty and wildlife, never. Working on boats, doing paperwork etc., yep. So don't wait too long, I may retire someday and just spend time in Prince William Sound with family and friends.
