Nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, M14533 has been providing exciting adventures through the true Canadian Wilderness since 1982.
Our down-to-earth attitude, combined with the breath-taking scenery and thrilling whitewater of the Upper Red Deer River, is what makes us unique. Whether you're an experienced veteran or a total newcomer, you've no doubt heard about "the whitewater experience". Mukwah has been introducing and nurturing this experience for over an entire generation - and exploding the myth that whitewater rafting is only about thrill seeking. Whether you represent a sorority house, corporate team building, or a young family, our staff are trained to ensure your comfort and peace of mind. In fact, our dedication to customer service is the number one reason our clients keep coming back!
Ojibway tribesmen saw the bear (or Mukwah as they called it) as the protector spirit, and we in turn honour that by making sure every consideration for your safety is taken. All guides are certified in First Aid and CPR and Swiftwater Rescue, and have achieved the highest accreditation possible in leading whitewater tours. With your well-being in mind, we give you a short safety briefing and paddle demonstration before each voyage. Most importantly, our guides are familiar with the Upper Red Deer River, its many moods and its many challenges.
The professional guiding staff bring with them years of experience. They are knowledgeable and willing to share their rafting experiences with you. An easily understood paddling and safety session before each trip is given by your qualified guide. They will teach you everything you need to know.
All our equipment is designed with your safety in mind, from high buoyancy life jackets to adjustable helmets. We also provide wet suits and booties to keep your muscles warm.
