Supplier: M14725

InfoHub supplier since Aug 2006!
Base of operations: Indonesia
M14725 is the trademark for a management consortium of three splendid sailing vessels that have become the standard for responsible maritime tourism throughout the Indonesian archipelago. We operate the traditional schooners Katharina and Ombak Putih on scheduled departures of 'leisure expeditions' all year round. We also manage the live aboard schooner Atasita, specialized in scuba cruises and in addition we arrange charters on a range of yachts such as our own M.Y. Merrymakin. M14725 started its operations in 1985 with a clear vision that it never abandoned and for a quarter of a century, without any interruptions, we have been instrumental in opening the Eastern part of Indonesia to several generations of travelers.

Our scheduled leisure expeditions will take you to the unknown and the extraordinary, to dragons in Komodo, whale hunters in Lembata and to warrior tribes in Papua. We retrace the ancient spice routes to the gorgeous Banda Islands and follow in the wake of ancient discoverers like Magellan, Cook, and Tasman. On previously undiscovered reefs you will admire the treasures of the underwater world. The formula of M14725 is as simple as it is attractive. Your home-away-from-home is a spacious sailing vessel and you have a comfortable cabin with your own en-suite bathroom. An attentive but discrete crew takes care of everything. Most of the sailing is done at night and while you sleep, the captain is on the bridge to take you to yet another splendid anchorage or another lovely harbour. Every new day you will wake up to another surprise.

Our greatest asset is probably the vast amount of knowledge we have acquired about the anchorages and the islands in the eastern archipelago, the customs of their inhabitants and the special places worth visiting. Our network of contacts and friends throughout the region is second to none. At our head office in Bali, M14725 has a small team of highly experienced professionals who react swiftly and smartly to all special requests. Our present staff consists of Indonesian, French and Dutch nationals, all with impressive track records and each an expert in his or her own field.

Talk about paradise! The Katharina is a dream of a boat, elegant, comfortable, safe... you feel like living the dream you had when you were little...

To say that these ten days have been wonderful is an understatement, one could properly only speak in superlatives! Green islands, blue seas, unspoiled children, and lest I forget, Badrain, the purser, perfectly mixed gin and toncic, served with style..

.. a ten day expedition to the fabled spice islands - where the air is scented by vanilla and incense, where terrible pre-historic dragons sit on rocky thrones on islands sleeping in hauntingly beautiful lagoons, where volcano's his and men dance with frenzied vicious whips.. sorry to wax lyrical, but that is how the whole journey has been - lyrical, magical, enchanting..

4  Johan and Hermien Boeijenga / Cruise abaord MSY 'Katharina'

.. from day one we had the experience of a lifetime, days blended into nights into days, often to the point you wandered what day it was ... until we had a Christmas Eve dbarbcue on the beach with the best and only lobster I've ever eaten. All the days on the Katharina were equally brilliant.. September 2006

...and we can't forget the crew, bacause NO CREW, NO AMBIANCE for me! I was the closest with the crew ... very funny and helpful people who can save a secret. In a few years (when I finished high school) I will come back and sharter the boat. Nicolas (15 years), April 2007
