Pat Retzlaff grew up in Zimbabwe and married Amanda Whitefield, they raised a family in Mashonaland where they farmed for over 25 years. They were recently forced to flee the country by Robert Mugabe and the political turmoil he was causing in Zimbabwe.
Pat & Mandy moved across the border to Mozambique and with them came over a 100 horses which they had rescued from farms throughout Zimbabwe. Struggling to look after the horses they set about creating a horse safari that would open up horse riding to the people of Mozambique and ensure the survival of their horses. The Retzlaff’s are positive that Mozambique’s tourist industry will continue to improve and the horses will thrive in their new home!
