During the later end of the 1990’s I was approached to undertake research on satellite imagery and the mapping of land using this technology, later evolving into GPS as we now know it, with vehicle and personnel tracking, etc. For this work I gained a Masters Degree in Land Information Management and Mapping.
I have a great deal of experience, and have always enjoyed working, within the learning environment, always taking a personal interest in my students and their welfare and development
1. How long has the business been operating and how did it start?
We formed the school in August 2010 mainly to help UK visa applicants from the Philippines to move to the UK to be with their partners. Since then we have slowly developed to offer a wide range of British English language courses accredited by EDI, a UK awarding body.
2. What is your company's mission?
Our mission is to provide high quality learning programs in the English language from the British perspective, and to assist UK visa applicants to adjust to the cultures and heritage of the UK.
3. What does your company specialize in?
Our company specialises in British English language courses, TEFL programs and English language study tours
4. Who is the founder or owner of the company and briefly describe his/her past activities?
Peter Thwaites is the founder of our company. Peter Thwaites was a Building Engineer in the UK before taking up a career in Education. Following more than 20 years as a college and university lecturer, Peter and his Filipina wife founded the Filipino corporation 'Theodolite Training group UK Incorporated' which offers training and support in the learning of British English as a second language. The learning programs support a mix of language learning, participation in a variety of excursions and activities around the islands of Cebu, and immersion in the Philippine culture and heritage.
5. What is your most popular travel package and why?
Our most popular package at the moment is our 'Conversational British English' tour which encourages the development of the English language for conversation between English speaking colleagues. The course is tailored to the individual requirements of each applicant and uses British English as the foundation language. The tour includes excursions and activities around the islands of Cebu, which has assisted European companies to immerse themselves in the Philippine culture and heritage.
6. What is the best compliment you received from a client?
"We have enjoyed every moment spent here in the Philippines, and cannot express the pleasure and excitement experienced whilst taking part in the many activities arranged for us. As a team building exercise it has succeeded far beyond our expectations. Thanks"
