An English-language cooking vacation in France where you will have a great time cooking, relaxing and seeing the sights.
Fancy a fun, friendly hands-on cooking vacation where you can soak up the French life and learn to cook the way you've always dreamed? Well, if you'd love to cook and present dishes like the professionals, enhance your general cooking technique and have a great time into the bargain come and join us on your cooking vacation in France.
You see, according to Jim Fisher, our experienced English chef, it's all about building confidence by bringing out what's already within you, so skills you never knew you had will suddenly spring to life!
Jim Fisher is a chef, and jointly runs this school with Lucy, his wife of 20 years. Jenny, their twelve year old daughter, goes to the local school at Montignac. Now confident in my cooking we set up Wine&Dine, a successful enterprise specializing in cooking dinner parties for people in the comfort of their own home.
In partnership with wine expert and former wine-buyer for Sainsbury's, Julia Jenkins, we planned, prepared and cooked the meal, demonstrating the various courses. Julia selected and presented wines to go with each course. Meals were based on my love of traditional regional dishes, not only from British shores, but also the Mediterranean and Pacific Rim.
Though hugely successful, Wine&Dine eventually took second place to our growing desire to travel with a view to setting up a cookery school. It was because of this that we sold our home, severing our ties with England and, armed only with a one-way ferry ticket, scoured Europe in search of a suitable venue for our proposed cooking holidays.
Now the proud owners of a converted 17th Century farm set among the rolling countryside of the Dordogne, we invite you to come and learn to cook some great dishes and immerse yourself, for a while at least, in our little corner of rural France.
