I am officially licensed as a tourist guide for all the major tourist attractions of Prague. I hold a general license for Prague as well as special licenses for the Prague castle and Jewish museum. I hold both Czech and US citizenships. Born in Czechoslovakia, I fled the country in 1981, during the communist regime, shortly after I had graduated from Charles University's School of Philosophy.
For almost a decade I lived in New York, where I worked for New York University's Law Library and, later, for a publishing company. From 1988 to 1994 I lived in Munich, Germany. After my return to Prague, I worked in an educational center for Czech journalists and, later, in Prague's Municipal, Library, where I was in charge of foreign-language acquisitions.
I have a five-year experience in guiding small private groups as well as large organized groups in English. I can tailor individual tours to my clients' needs. I offer walking tours of Prague, museum tours, specialized theme tours, and trips outside of Prague (especially to UNESCO heritage sites) including transportation.
I am able to accompany you as a guide on these trips. I can also arrange tickets for various cultural events in Prague; recommend restaurants and places you can visit. I also offer genealogy research - I can trace down your ancestors in the Czech Republic.
