With a commitment to excellence, a passion for cycling, and a love for his country of France, Bruno has created a one-of-a-kind travel company which meets the vacation needs and desires of competitive or leisure cyclists wishing to visit France and some of its neighbors: Italy, Spain, and Switzerland.
1. How long has the business been operating and how did it start?
Bruno Toutain is the Managing Director of M09630, a France-based bike touring company. After 15 years in the travel industry and years and years of cycling, he decided to combine his two passions and create M09630. Launched in 2003, M09630 is the fruition of a love of cycling, discovering the world, and connecting people.
2. What is your company's mission?
It is our goal every day to combine our passion for cycling, expertise of local regions and passion for traveling into creating the most memorable, affordable and rewarding life experiences possible for our clients. We constantly drive ourselves toward helping cyclists of all backgrounds and fitness levels to discover aspects of Europe that may otherwise be difficult to access. We provide all of our diverse experiences in the most fun and economically sustainable way possible, while relying on local companies and guides to achieve a genuine conveyance of culture and heritage.
3. What does your company specialize in?
M09630 offers a unique vacation experience for the leisure rider, the very competitive, the fast or the slow. Scheduled and customized trips are all designed with the cooperation of local experts and are operated by local companies. These small tour operators all share a passion for introducing travelers first-hand to their native culture, lifestyle and environment. M09630 believes in the value of partnership, a more cost-effective way to operate, and delivers authenticity at very reasonable prices.
4. Who is the founder or owner of the company and briefly describe his/her past activities?
Prior to setting up M09630, Bruno spent 12 years working for the Monaco Government Tourist Office (MGTO) in New York, as well as the Caen Chamber of Commerce, and Marketing Challenges International, a New York based marketing and sales office for French travel companies. As a manager for MGTO, Bruno was responsible for a wide variety of tasks and projects, including providing the tourism and travel agent community with Monaco information and consulting and advising hotel partners on new travel-related technologies for simplified travel planning. Always concerned about the environment, he strove to make the NY office a paperless or less-paper workplace, minimizing printing and maximizing the use of technology. In 1995, together with Gale Force Computing, Bruno developed and implemented the first European tourist office website. Bruno also was awarded the distinction of being featured in Travel Agent Magazine as one of the 100 Rising Stars in the travel industry.
5. What is your most popular travel package and why?
The Alpilles tour is the most popular travel package since it is easily accessible, short and is located in a well-known destination.
6. What is the best compliment you received from a client?
"No exaggeration - it was the best bike trip we have both been on"
