If you are traveling with kids in Brussels, stop by the Comic Strip museum and let the kids enter the public library (hundreds of comic strip books in English, small entrance fee). While the kids will be having a good time, sitting on the floor on big smooth cushions, parent may taste a local beer or hot chocolate in the museum café and marvel the unique Art Nouveau architecture of the Horta building.

In Brussels you do not really need a car if you are on a budget and prefer to walk and use public transportation. Take the metro and discover various artworks (e.g. Bourse station; huge wall painting by Paul Delvaux. Each metro station features a different artist. You may also rent a bike from one of the many bike pick up points that may be found throughout the city (24h). And last but not least, the trolleys (trams) can be great fun too! Buy a day ticket and hop on and off as many times as you wish (trams, metro or buses).

There are 2 different types of waffles in Belgium. ... view more The Liege waffles are thick round waffles, extremely rich and sweet, with a strong flavor of vanilla and cinnamon. The other type, the Brussels waffles are rectangle, light waffles. I suggest having these with whipped cream and fresh strawberries on top.

Bon Appetit!
