Peering outside our regular adventure map, we’ve fused all new routes and stylish accommodations to create a dazzlingly hip adventure. From enjoying Thai haute cuisine in Bangkok to exploring the back streets and outer canals of this great city, we’ll shed a whole new light on ‘The City of Angels’. Then it’s off to Chiang Mai, the vibrant northern capital of Thailand and center of art and culture to start three, high-octane days of motorcycling within Chiang Mai and enchanting Mae Hong Son provinces. The rides provide arguably the most spectacular roads in SE Asia, including nearly 2,000 curves in a single day. Roads will be all well-paved atop 250cc Honda motorcycles. Boutique mountain resorts in Mae Hong Son (including very hip town of Pai) and the stunning new Rachamankha in Chiang Mai enhance the northern adventure with style and refinement. The journey on motorcycles and chic hotels is as enchanting as the food is sublime. Finally it’s off to Siam Reap, where we stay at one of the world’s hippest new hotels and take in one of the Wonders of the World, mystical Angkor Wat. This is a special event not to be missed. Join us this October!
This trip includes nine nights of premium accommodations, two internal airline tickets, two international airline tickets (Thailand to Camodia - return), all airport and hotel transfers, Smiling Albino co-founders Daniel and/or Scott, our wonderful local guides, motorbikes, jeeps, all transport, 3-day Angkor Wat pass, snacks, refreshments and meals as indicated. The program also includes cool welcome kits for your arrival in Bangkok (including your very own mobile phone), full of unique and useful items to use during your trip. Our ‘Sublime Adventures’ are outstanding, catered experiences not to be missed.
Day 1: Welcome to Bangkok
When you touch down we’ll have a slick car waiting to whisk you to your home away from home. You’ll feel spoiled and pampered when you check into a Grande Deluxe Suite at the Majestic Grande. Take today to relax, enjoy a swim, then we’ll head out on the town for hip Thai cuisine and drinks to celebrate your arrival.
Sleeping: Majestic Grande
Day 2: Rocketboats, Chinatown, Hidden Corners
We’ll plan a fun day out, heading to odd corners and lesser explored reaches of Old Bangkok, Chinatown and the canals of Nonthaburi - scuttling through these canals on ‘rocketboats’ is the ultimate City of Angels thrill. A short walking trip through the narrow-lane mazes of Chinatown and an afternoon open for further city exploration – shopping, spas, etc. Step out in style!
Sleeping: Majestic Grande
Day 3: Dramatic Northern Climbs on Motorbikes
We’ll catch a morning flight (not too early) to Chiang Mai, the cultural capital of northern Thailand. From here, mount your steed and head off for a dazzling day cruising the north’s mountains ‘easy-rider-style’. We’ll use 250cc Honda motorbikes to make our way northwest along a twisty route to the charming town of Pai. Nestled in the hills of Thailand’s remote north, Pai has become ‘the’ northern chill out location. Best described as a bohemian mountain village, spend the day checking Pai out, sipping cocktails at a riverside bar and digging the ultra-relaxed northern vibe.
For non-motorcycle riders we’ll have an escort vehicle along with the group for you to travel in alternative comfort and shuttle all luggage.
Sleeping: Pai River Corner Resort, Pai, Mae Hong Son province
Day 4: Misty Mountain Cruising
It’s back on the bikes for a ride along the kingdom’s windiest road. Heading west and then south we’ll make our way to Mae Hong Song then further south to Mae Sariang. This road is nicely paved and boasts a staggering 1,800 curves and spectacular scenery – hang on to your handlebars. En-route we’ll stop for plenty of photos, check out some examples of Lanna-style temples and enjoy a huge feast at the end of the day. At night - cocktails anyone?
Sleeping: Riverhouse Resort, Mae Sariang, Mae Hong Son province
Day 5: Winding back to Chiang Mai
The capstone to our three-day motorcycle journey features a gritty afternoon enjoying the curves, wide open straightaways and fresh northern air in your face. Upon our arrival at Chiang Mai city we’ll check into the stunning ‘Rachamankha’. Recently featured in Conde Nast’s Best New Hotels List, The Rachamankha is an artistic and cultural masterpiece unto itself, and a wonderful representation of traditional Lanna architecture. After some well-earned down time, we’ll head out on the town for a legendary dinner along the northern capital’s ancient moat. As the capital of art and design, Chiang Mai boasts a world famous night bazaar jam-packed with galleries, open market stalls, bars and nightly events.
Sleeping: The Rachamankha, Chiang Mai
Day 6: To Siam Reap, Cambodia
Today we’ll catch a morning flight back to Bangkok for our connecting flight to Cambodia. From Bangkok we’ll fly direct to Siem Reap, home of one of the Wonders of the World, Angkor Wat. You’ll land at 16:00 and be transferred to the ‘Hotel de la Paix’, a gorgeous, almost spiritual transformation of traditional Khmer and modern design. The Hotel de la Paix tops the bill for discerning art and design enthusiasts and has been featured in Conde Nast and Wallpaper’s Hot List. Here we’ll enjoy Deluxe Rooms for this divine experience.
Near the gateway of venerable Angkor Wat, Siem Reap is exploding with cool restaurants, bars and Khmer markets. We’ll provide you with a ‘Siem Reap Tips Kit’, full of suggestions for the best things to do, coolest places to eat, drink, explore and make the most of this essential destination.
Sleeping: Hotel de la Paix, Siem Reap, Cambodia

This vast city was the most important and powerful in the region, serving as its capital for more than 600 years. With thousands of temple ruins, statues, and relief’s (many still in their natural state), you’ll find yourself constantly asking “how did they build that?” We’ll have a great local character meet you at your hotel and take you out for a day. You’ll never forget exploring these incredible temples – Angkor Wat, Angkor Tom and Tha Prom. All bases are covered today including great guides, transport, lunch, snacks and drinks.
