Please note that routes may vary as most of Mongolia has no formed roads, and day-to-day hazards mean that we may have to change our proposed route. This is a preliminary itinerary only and we reserve the right to make changes. Kilometres given are approximations only.

Day 1: Arrive Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia. Arrive Mongolia; you will be met by our Crew and myself. Depending on arrival numbers, pick up will be by Bus or car. Check into Hotel and settle in, meet for welcome dinner and go over route.

Day 2: Ulaan Baater – Lake Egginuur (220 Km). Time to be introduced to your bikes, and we have an early start and bus ride from Ulaan Baatar to the Workshop. It won’t take long before we are on the dirt trails and heading west. Conditions vary considerably, a good opportunity to get accustomed to the bike, and the riding conditions. Late in the day the scenery changes to desert, sand dunes and camels as we enter the far northern Gobi region.

Day 3: Lake Egginuur – Tovihid (200 Km). After breakfast we travel cross-country to Tovihid, we pass though and over valleys and hills a great ride. Camp out at Tovihid and enjoy the million star views.

Day 4: Tovinhid - Egginuur Falls (120 km). Breakfast, followed by a trip to Tovihid Monastery. Join the Mongolian people and be reborn, great chance for pictures. Ride up to Monastery on bike or Horse! After trek time for a cup of tea and a snack we are ready to head to Egginnuur falls. Great ride a couple of small river crossings, get it wrong and you could be in for an early shower.

Day 5: Egginuur Falls - Kharhorin (150 Km). Backtrack a little then follow the river to Kharhorin, where in 1220 the famous Warlord Genghis Khan built the Mongolian capital. Ruins of this Imperial City can still be seen today. Also based here is the Erdene Zuu, the first Buddhist Monastery in Mongolia, which is sometimes called the ‘Jewel Temple”. Visit the Monastery and check in to our Ger.

Day 6: Kharhorin – Rashant (100 Km). Leisurely start only a short hop to Rashant and believe it or not on a little “TARMAC”. and then off road turn left into Rashant and finish the ride over some dunes.

Day 7: Rashant – Hustia camp (220 Km). Early start, cut back to the road and then back to pure off road for the rest of the day. Stop for lunch and a drink and then on to Hustia camp home of the Przewalski's wild horse

Day 8: Horse Camp – Workshop (100 Km). Up early is the best time to try and see the Przewalski’s wild horse, only a few 100 of these animals remain on the planet. The Przewalski horse - Takh in Mongolian - is the sole surviving genuine wild horse in the world, (not to be confused with, for instance, the mustang, a descendent from domestic breeds gone wild). Today is the last day’s riding. Gravel and sand feature, and watch out for the washouts!

ETA workshop 12:00 hrs. Check in to our hotel, clean up and meet for our final dinner, and drinks, as a group.

Day 9: Depart Mongolia. Pick up from Hotel transfer to airport.

Airfare is not included in the tour price.
