Called the Grand Canyon of New Zealand because of the towering granite walls that make up the 3 gorges on the Whataroa, this river flows from the largest glacial ice field in New Zealand. We fly into the mountains and put in directly below The Portals of Doom, a class VI waterfall that has never been run.

For the half day trip we fly to the Perth confluence and raft out with big volume waves, lots of fun for older children and those not wanting an extreme rafting trip. There is an optional rock jump and swim rapid as well.

Minimum age requested 8-10 (depending on river levels).

Notes:
Airfare is not included in the tour price.

Massive group bookings available, call or email to enquirer
