If you are looking for a challenging bike ride this is the right tour for you. You will cover more than 600 km in 7 rides. As you pedal along the magnificent Atlantic coast of Portugal, you will explore the wild beaches of the Alentejo, and the unspoiled hilly region of the Algarve. Great riding and plenty to see! Sagres, Europe’s most southwestern point, is where Prince Henry the Navigator prepared the Portuguese expeditions back in the 16th Century. You will visit the Roman ruins of Miróbriga and, of course, encounter all the charming little villages along the way. The last day will be spent in Lisboa.
- Level: Advanced. Total distance: 602 km/375 mi. Shortest day: 43 km/27 mi.
- Longest day: 130 km/81 mi.

Day 1: Meet at the airport in Lisboa. Van transfer to Grândola. After a light lunch in this charming town we will go for a warm-up ride (aprox. 43 km/27 miles). Welcome dinner. Lodging - Hotel D. Jorge de Lencastre.

Day 2: Grândola-Cercal (95 km/59 miles). Ride your bicycle through cork and olive tree groves on the way to Santiago do Cacém, where we will visit the Roman ruins of Miróbriga. The ride will then take us to the Atlantic coast of Portugal and through the charming village of Porto Covo, on the way to Cercal. We will stay in a very special place, enjoy a gourmet dinner and relax in a unique atmosphere. Lodging - Herdade da Matinha.

Day 3: Cercal - Sagres (131 km/82 miles). The longest bike ride of this tour in Portugal! A great day of riding that combines very different landscapes - the cliffs, the wild beaches and the town of Sagres are among the several highlights of the day. It was in Sagres that Prince Henry the Navigator prepared many of Portugal´s discovery journeys.
Our hotel in Sagres offers great ocean views from the rooms, has as SPA and an outdoor swimming pool. Lodging - Hotel Memmo Baleeira.

Day 4: Sagres - Caldas de Monchique (78 km/49 miles). We start our West to East crossing of the Algarve. The bicycle route we chose will take us through olive, orange, fig and almond groves. We will stay in Caldas de Monchique, a popular SPA since the Roman times. Save some time for a full body massage! Lodging - Hotel Caldas de Monchique.

Day 5: Caldas de Monchique-Caldas de Monchique (78-62 km/49-39 miles). The plan for today is simple - a loop ride that will take us to the highest point in the Algarve, the Fóia peak (902 m/2960 ft). This is a very challenging ride but the panoramic views from the peak are fantastic! Lodging - Hotel Caldas de Monchique.

Day 6: Caldas de Monchique - Estói (106.5 km/66.2 miles). Today we will discover the best of the inland Algarve. Charming villages and rolling hills make this a great day of cycling. In Silves, the former Moorish capital of the Algarve, the 11th century castle is well worth a visit.
We will also visit the interesting Cork museum. Lodging - Pousada Palácio de Estói.

Day 7: Estói - Ayamonte (91 km/ 56.5 miles). Our last day of cycling will take us all the way to the Spain, completing our West/East crossing of the Algarve. The coastal village of Cacela Velha, with its beautiful white sand beach, and the 13th century castle in Castro Marim are among today´s highlights. A great bicycle ride waits for you! Lodging - Hotel in Ayamonte.

Day 8: Morning transfer to Lisboa. After lunch you will have the afternoon to explore the unique mix of old and new neighborhoods within Portugal´s capital, as well as its many interesting monuments and museums. Farewell dinner in one of Lisboa´s typical restaurants. Lodging - Hotel in Lisboa.
