Discover the Turkish Kaçkar Mountains, an Alpine style region, off the beaten path. You will be surprised after every corner of the trail, and be one of the first bikers riding in the area. If you think Turkey is just Mediterranean coast, now you have the chance to discover other faces of this surprising country, in the crossroads of so many civilizations. We will stay in little pensions and villages where we have the chance to contact with 4 ethnic groups with rich traditions. Ride and fun in remote places mixing Asian and European tastes!

Day 1: Erzurum | Uzundere. Transfer from Erzurum airport to Uzundere. Prepare the bike for tour. Short visit to the Tortum lake, and Tortum waterfall and Yikiklar 7 lakes by bus. Lodging and dinner: Home pension (shared bathroom) in Uzundere.

Day 2: Uzundere | Haho Monastery | Bagbasi | Uzunkavak Highland village | 7 lakes in Tortum (90 km/ 55.9 mi | +1550 m/ 5085 ft)

We will start pedaling from Uzundere to Haho Monastery (10th C Georgian church) and then to Bagbasi village. Bagbasi - Ispir  route (60 Km/ 37.3 mi unsurfaced road and alpine grasses, 30 km/ 18.6 mi asphalt, 1550 m/ 5085 ft climb, 600 m/ 1969 ft downhill.) There are amazing glacier lakes on the Mescit Mt. on the perfect plateau. In the end of an hard climbing there is a highland village known as Uzunkavak yayla. Lodging and dinner: Poor guesthouse in the village we stay there and eat traditional food. We will sleep in one room with the sleeping bags.

Day 3: Uzunkavak yayla | Devedagi gecit | Ispir (90 km/ 55.9 m | +1500 m/ +4921 ft)

From Uzunkavak Yayla we start downhill in the Ispir direction. Then we climb to the Devedagi pass on a dirt road. We ride in a wild route with scenic views across to the main Kaçkar range, through alpine grasslands and pine forest, and then descent to Çoruh at Ispir. Lodging and dinner: Home pension in Orchards (shared bathrooms). Bahçeli pension.

Day 4: Ispir | Moryayla | Yedigöller Plateu | Yedigöl | Köyü (64 km/ 39.8 mi | +2200 m/ +7218 ft)

Start by climbing on and asphalt road towards Ovit pass then turn right downhill to Moryayla on a winding dirt road. Now the route climbs through farms and along a river to alpine pastures with wide views and rhododendron patches. We will visit a local ethnography Museum in the village before climbing again in a dirt road to the Yedigoller Pass. Short and difficult downhill in a single track to the Yedigöller plateau. Continue downhill to Yedigöl Village now in a dirt double track with fabulous views over the lakes as we descend towards the river. Lodging and dinner: In Yedigoller village in the guesthouse. 

Day 5: Yedigöl | koyu | Pokut Mahallesi | Yildiztepe (Hotar) | Honzar | Çamlikaya (60 km/ 37.3 mi | +1200 m/ 3937 ft)

This day we have some narrow trails where we either walk some parts or bike, but enjoying beautiful natural landscapes, traditional houses and huts. Lodging and dinner: Home Pension in Çamlikaya (shared bathrooms), traditional house. 

Day 6: Çamlikaya | Sirakonaklar (35 km/ 21.7 mi | +1850 m/ +6070 ft)

We start climbing to the summer village of Camlikaya and continue to the tiny Sirtbas Yaylasi. In a dirt road we descend to Sirakonaklar (“row of mansions”) village. The route follows through thick forest, past traditional villages and to alpine pastures covered with flowers.
Lodging and dinner: Home pension in the traditional stone houses of Sirakonaklar.

Day 7: Sirakonaklar Village | Köprügören (Hosnak) | Yamaçüstü Village | Kiliçkaya | Aros Yayla | Ersis Castle | Kiliçkaya (100 km/ 62.1 mi | +2000 m/ +6562 ft)

We follow the stream down the Sirakonaklar valley (partly through a gorge) to the main Çoruh river, in a dirt road. We continue by the river in a winding asphalt small road to Köprügören (Hosnak) Village. Climb to Yamaçüstü Village then to the Kiliçkaya town on the south banks of the Çoruh. Views over Ercis castle, the Çoruh and back to the Kaçkar range. Optionally you can go till Aros Yayla and loop to the Kiliçkaya. (17 Km/ 10.6 mi | +1000 m/ + 3281 ft or 18 km/ 11.2 mi | 1000 m/ 3281 ft).
Lodging and dinner: In Ambar Evleri, wooden traditional buildings in a walnut orchard just above the town.

Day 8: Kiliçkaya | Kiliçkaya Pass | Çamliyamaç Village (Oskvank Monastry) | Sapaca village | Pusulu Yayla | Climb to the ridge | Uzundere Yayla | Zuar bogazi | Uzundere Waterfall | Uzundere (29 km/ 18 mi | +950 m/ 3117 ft)

We bike uphill from Kiliçkaya to Kiliçkaya Pass and then along the Çamliyamaç Stream to Çamliyamaç village (Oskvank Monastery). After a short visit to the 10th C Georgian Monastery, we continue climbing to Sapaca village. After we ride to Pusulu Yayla and loop to the Uzundere centre. Lodging and dinner: In Uzundere

Day 9: Transfer to Erzurum
