Day 1: Sapa - Heavens Gate - 2900 m. You are having a couple of interesting days waiting ahead. You travel by car toward the Silver Waterfall where you will be able to take a short walk to the waterfall. You will then drive further to Heaven Gate, the highest peak of roads in Vietnam. From there you can see Fansipan, the highest peak of Indochina mountains as well as enjoy stunning views. The trek will be relatively soft until lunchtime. After a couple of hours of hiking, you will have a break at a nice spot in the forest and enjoy a good lunch.
With new energy you start ascending as well as descending towards the the campsite. En route have many opportunities to enjoy the scenery and magnificent views to Sapa area and beautiful landscape of Lai Chau province. You will arrive to the campsite at 2900 m ASL in the late afternoon. Now it is time to relax and enjoy a well prepared dinner. Approximative grade 3 of 5, 0,5 hour driving, 5 hours walking, 1 hour lunch. Includes: (L), (D).
Day 2: 2900 m - the top of Fansipan - 2700 m. After having breakfast, you climb to the top, where you can celebrate your victory. From there, you can enjoy the best view to beautiful sceneries. You will then start descending. You stop on the way at a nice spot for lunch. After lunch, you start the tough trek, which is all the way downhill through rain forest. This part requires a great concentration to step on steep trail until you meet the campsite at 2700 m ASL. Here you spend another night in tent. Approximative grade 3 of 5, 7 hours walking, 1 hour lunch. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 3: 2700 m - Y Linh Ho. You weak up in the fresh and pure morning in wild nature, where you can take deep breath before you start the tough day. You descend through well protected forest and after a couple of hours of hiking, you stop for lunch. You will then continue descending toward the valley. On the way you will be able to enjoy valley views and beautiful surrounding. You arrive in Y Linh Ho village of Black Hmong minority in the late afternoon. Here you spend the night at a campsite nearby Muong Hoa river. Approximative grade 3 of 5, 8 hours walking, 1 hour lunch. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 4: Y Linh Ho - Seomity. Today’s trek will be mostly uphill until lunchtime in a beautiful part of Hoang Lien National Park. On the way, you have many opportunities to enjoy valley views. After a couple of hours of hiking, you stop at a nice spot for lunch. The trek will be softer in the afternoon. But the scenery becomes even more beautiful. You pass by Seomity village of Black Hmong minority before you arrive in a campsite, which locates nearby a river outside the village. While porters put up tents and cook dinner, you can take a walk to stretch the legs. Approximative grade 3 of 5, 7 hours walking, 1 hour lunch. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 5: Seomity - Den Thang - Ta Trung Ho. The trek today takes you through beautiful rice paddies and over old suspension bridges. You will trek on small trail sneaking through rain forest. You arrive in Den Thang village of Black Hmong by noon. Here you stop for lunch either nearby a river or in a local school according to the weather. After lunch, the trek will becomes tough on tinny footpath going up and down, which requires a lot of concentration. You will reach to Ta Trung Ho village of Red Dao minority where you spend the night in local house. Both the valley and the village have just received foreign visitors. The night will be even more interesting when you are in the wonderful hospitable atmosphere of the Red Dao. Approximative 0,5 hour driving, 7 hours walking, 1 hour lunch. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 6: Ta Trung Ho - Ban Ho. The trek becomes tough today on tinny footpath going up and down, which requires a lot of concentration. You will reach to Ta Trung Ho village of Red Dao minority where you have lunch in local house. Both the valley and the village have just received foreign visitors. You will enjoy the wonderful hospitable atmosphere of the Red Dao. After lunch, the trek will be mostly downhill. You are now at the fringe of the rain forest by the Hoang Lien Son Mountain range. You follow footpath through rice paddy terraces. Before hiking up, you stop by a waterfall with beautiful pools nearby. From there you make all the way downhill toward Ban Ho village of Tay minority. Here you spend the night in a traditional Tay house. Approximative grade 3 of 5, 7 hours walking, 1 hour lunch. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 7: Ban Ho - Thanh Phu - Sin Chai. Your today’s trek through Ban Ho valley will start after morning coffee and delicious breakfast. You will cross several suspension bridges before you arrive in Thanh Phu village of Tay minority. On the way you will be able to visit local schools. Before lunch you trek uphill toward Thanh Phu. Here you stop for lunch in a local house. After lunchtime, you head to Sin Chai village of Red Dao minority where the night will be spent in bamboo huts. You will be attracted by the wonderful hospitable atmosphere of the Red Dao. Approximative grade 2 of 5, 4 hours walking, 1 hour lunch. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 8: Sin Chai - Nam Nhiu - Nam Than - Sin Chai. You leave Sin Chai for the day trek. You trek on a dirt road, which lead to Nam Than village of Red Dao minority and Nam Nhiu of Green Hmong. On the way you will be able to visit local schools, where you can give children little presents such as pans and books. You will have lunch in one of those local schools. After lunch, you head back to Sin Chai, where you spend the second night in bamboo huts. You will be able to take good rest and good sleep for refreshment before the long last day trek. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 9: Sin Chai - Nam Ket - Ben Den - Lao Cai. After a good sleep in bamboo hut, you wake up for an early breakfast and repack your luggage for the long trek heading toward Lao Cai. Once you leave Sin Chai, the trip takes you into a fabulously mountainous area, the most remote part of Sapa. En route you meet children’ curious eyes as you are very first tourists passing by. Red Dao ethnic minority inhabits the entire area. You will enjoy the fresh of bamboo forest and jungle until you make a stop at Nam Ket for lunch.
After lunch, your trek will be mostly downhill. After about half an hour, you will have a opportunity to enjoy one of the most beautiful view of days over a green valley lying along the Red River. You eventually arrive in Ta Thang village of Tay minority. Here you will be transferred by car to Lao Cai. You will be able to have shower and dinner before you catch the night train back to Ha Noi. Approximative grade 3 of 5, 7.5 hours walking, 1 hour lunch. Includes: (B), (L).
