This tour takes you through some of the most stunning scenery on the Costa Blanca along quiet country roads, ancient footpaths, and forestry tracks. It includes stays in whitewashed mountain villages that date from the Moorish occupation of Spain. This area is little visited so you will be exploring mostly "uncharted" terrain and are unlikely to meet many other walkers.
Day 1. Transfer from the airport to Finestrat where you can spend the rest of the day exploring the old town; narrow streets and houses built on Moorish foundations with views of the Mediterranean Sea.
Day 2. Finestrat to Sella, 14.6 km and 540m ascents. Today is an gentle walk of 4½ to 5 hours that takes you through terraces of olives, almonds, oranges, lemons and loquats around Finestrat and up into the olive, almond and pine groves of the surrounding hillsides.
Day 3. Sella to Benimantell, 16.0 km and 900m ascents and 790m descents. Walking time 5 to 6 hours. You explore Aitana, the highest mountain in Alicante Province and its numerous natural springs with an option to ascend to the summit and panoramic views of the Province.
Day 4. Benimantell to Confrides. 12.2 km and 800m ascents and 790m descents. Walking time 5 to 6 hours. You explore Aitana, the highest mountain in Alicante Province and its numerous natural springs with an option to ascend to the summit and panoramic views of the Province remains of an ice house and outstanding views of the surrounding mountains.
Day 5. Confrides to Fageca, 18.2 km and 1051m ascents and 890m descents.Today you leave the Guadalest Valley and ascend the Sierra de Serrella to cross over into the adjacent Seta Valley. Features rugged Alpine scenery and an optional visit to the summit of Serrella to see the remains of an ice house and outstanding views of the surrounding mountains.
Day 6. Fageca to Castells de Castells, 18.1 km and 680m ascents and 690m descents.Today's highlights includesa visit to a cave dwelling, a perfectly preserved icehouse, natural springs, a gypsum mill and veteran trees thought to be 500 or 600 years old
There is also a shorter 13km and 360m ascent alternative route that includes most of the interesting features without ascending Serrella.
Day 7. Castells de Castells to Tàrbena. 19.4 km and 515m ascents and 810m descents. This route takes you through the olive, almond and pine groves of the Tárbena Valley, a visit to our carob farm, an excursion to the Paso de los Bandoleros and then into the semi-tropical Algar where you can visit the impressive Algar Falls, a series of natural pools and waterfalls, before finishing your circuit in Callosa.
Day 8. Transfer to Alicante airport for your return journey home.

You will be walking self-guided from village to village, breakfast and supper are included, as well as airport transfers and hotel to hotel luggage transfers. The only extras you will need to pay for are picnic lunches and wine with supper. You will be supplied with a pre-programmed GPS for navigating.
