The tour begins with the San Sebastian Catacombs, located beneath the Basilica of the same name. It's believed that these particular Catacombs were the first of their kind in Rome and have been an important place of pilgrimage during Medieval Times, especially considering that for almost forty years is believed that they housed the Saints Peter & Paul remains. An expert local guide will take you down into the chambers and narrow corridors to explore these ancient Christian burial grounds. Our tour will end with a walk through the fascinating ruins of the Appian way, where we will admire the splendid Circus of Maxentius, built by the emperor to honour the premature disappearing of his son Romolus and the mausoleum of Cecilia Metella, an extraordinary example of roman funerary architecture.

Note: This tour is conceived for at least 4 participants. If you are less than four however we can make a price arrangement.

Airfare is not included in the tour price.
