Visit the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut one of the most powerful women of Egypt, learn of her life and see the Temple built and dedicated to her, learn from our Egyptologist why the Temple was destroyed and how it is being restored today. Take your time to stroll around the Temple and soak up the history. From here we will carry on to the famous statues of Memnon while our Egyptologist describes for you the history of these great statues. To give you time to rest we will stop for lunch at an Egyptian restaurant.
After a satisfying lunch it is on to the magnificent Temple of Karnak, this breath taking Temple is the largest in the world, your Egyptologist will describe for you how the Egyptians were able to build in the grand scale and how they were able to erect many tons of (granite). Words cannot describe this Temple but your Egyptologist will try. Because of the size of the Temple you will not have the time (or the energy) to see all of its wonders and a return trip is highly recommended. Finally on to the smaller, but no less breathtaking, Luxor Temple where you will see the combination of many religions all on one site.
Supplemental Tour Information:
- This tour is one of our best for value and history and can be arranged for parties up to 9.
- If you wish to see a particular tomb please tell your Egyptologist if this is possible he will arrange it. (Tombs are sometimes closed for restoration)
