Tour itinerary:

Day 1: Kunming.

Arrive in Kunming, the Spring City of China. Meet you tour guide at the airport and transferred to the four-star New Era Hotel.

Day 2: Kunming.

Following breakfast is sightseeing of the Stone Forest known as the "First Wonder of the World" for its natural landscape. The Stone Forest was formed by karst millions years ago due to a process of weathering and erosion. It is divided into several scenic areas including Greater Stone Forest, Lesser Stone forest, Outer Stone Forest, Underground Stone Forest, Stone Forest Lake, and Da Dieshui Fall. After enjoying the typical Yunnan food-"Bridge crossing Noodles", continue to visit Golden Temple. Originally built in the Ming Dynasty, it is a national forest reserve with natural scenery mingled with sites of historical interest and man-made gardens. Then you will take a leisure stroll along the Green Lake, a charming area of tea houses and small boutiques selling local handicrafts. Includes: (B, L).

Day 3: Kunming - Dali.

Following breakfast is drive about 4.5 hours to Dali via Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture. Today you will visit Chongsheng Temple Three Pagodas. Originally built a thousand years ago, they still stand intact as a marvel of architecture. Continue to visit the Dali Old Town, which is located at the foot of Cangshan Mountain. Check into the four-star Dali Ancient Star Hotel. Includes: (B, L).

Day 4: Dali.

In the morning, tour around Erhai Lake on cruise and visit Jinsuo Island. Then head to the Xizhou Village which is one of the Bai ethnic minority villages around the Erhai Lake. You are escorted to visit the houses of local residents which are characterized by a traditional Chinese rectangular courtyard with a screen wall facing the gate. You will be greeted with the genuine tea ceremony of the Bai minority and treated to a song & dance performance by local Bai people. In the afternoon, go to Zhoucheng Town where you can appreciate the traditional way of indigo dying in local Indigo Workshop. Includes: (B, L).

Day 5: Dali - Lijiang.

After breakfast, drive about 180 kilometers to Lijiang. On the way you will be guided to visit Xinhua Bai Ethnic Village and get to know the real life of the Bai Minority people. Enjoy lunch at No.8 Restaurant at the bank of Black Dragon Pool, then visit Black Dragon Pool Park which is located at the foot of Elephant Hill. It was built in 1737 during the Qing Dynasty and offers a spectacular view on the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Proceed to visit the Dongba Culture Exhibition Museum, which represents the Dongba Pictographic Characters and Naxi Minorities mysterious Culture, some of which still use the matriarchal social system up till today. Check into the four-star Lijiang Old Town Impression Hotel. In the evening, explore the Lijiang Old Town on your own. Includes: (B, L).

Day 6: Lijiang.

After breakfast, you will visit the Ganhaizi Meadow, Baishui (White Water) River and the Yak Meadow in the Yulong Snow Mountain. Yulong Mountain is home to half of Yunnan's 13,000 plants species, 400 kinds of trees, dozens of flowers types, and one-third of China's known species of medicinal herbs and plants. Enjoy Lijiang Impression Show. After lunch, continue to Baisha Village which was the original settlement of the Naxi people over a thousand years ago. There are old temples with interesting frescoes originally made from 1385AD to 1619 AD. They employ the artist energies of Chinese Taoists, Tibetan and Naxi Buddhists and local Dongba shamans. After dinner, you will attend the Naxi Orchestral and Show in Dongba Palace. Includes: (B, L).

Day 7: Lijiang - Lugu Lake.

In the morning, dive 6 hrs on the spectacle mountain road to visit the mysterious Lugu Lake. You may start the walking from Jin An Bridge to Shudi along the road at the bank of Yangtze River and enjoy the beautiful canon and Yi ethnic people’s villages among the steep mountains. In the late afternoon, you will take the canoes to visit Liwubi Island and Snake Islet in Lugu Lake. (Optional)In the evening, take part in the night party and performance which is named the Soul of Mosuo. There are a lot of Mosuo young people dancing and singing around the fire in the outdoors theatre. Includes: (B, L).

Day 8: Lugu Lake - Lijiang.

Following breakfast is a visit to Zhamei Lama Monastery and Mosuo Market in Yongning Town. Then drive back to Lijiang directly. The rest time will be free in Lijiang Old Town. Includes: (B, L).

Day 9: Lijiang - Shangri-La.

Today drive about 60 kilometers to the First Bend on the Yangtze River. With imposing gorge scenery and the Iron Chain Bridge, the Stone Drum Town was named after a large, cylindrical, marble tablet in the shape of a drum. Continue to visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world. Upon arrival in Shangri La in the afternoon, you will have entered the Tibetan cultural area and a landscape of barley fields and yaks scattered in the valleys. Check into the four-star Zhongdian Holy Palace Hotel. Includes: (B, L).

Day 10: Shangri-La.

Morning program is the Ganden Sumtseling Monastery, the largest Tibetan monastery in Yunnan. Afterwards you will visit the tranquil Bita Lake & Shudu Lake. Proceed to visit the Guishan Park. In the evening you will visit a Tibetan family and taste the butter oil tea and Tibetan food. Includes: (B, L).

Day 11: Shangri-La - Deqin.

Following breakfast is drive about 6-7 hours to Deqin County (3400m altitude) via Baimang Snow Mountain Nature Reserve. After traversing mountain ranges, you will make a short stop and have lunch at Benzilan town, take some shots on the Dongzhulin monastery and Baimang Snow Mountain. The view along the way is fantastic with different kinds of trees, streams down the valley, prayer flags and Tibetan villages. Check into local best Feilai Temple Shenshan Hotel. Includes: (B, L).

Day 12: Deqin.

In the morning drive about 10 kilometers to Feilai Monastery to view the magic sunrise of Meili Snow Mountain. Then drive another 1.5 hours to Mingyong Village, where you will walk on the trails for about 4km to the bottom of Mingyong Glaciers, walk another one hour or so, you will get to Tibetan Taizi Monastery-another good spot to view the magnificent Mingyong Glaciers. (You can choose to hire a horse to go up to the glacier on your own expense in order to save your energy.) After that, get back to Deqin County. Includes: (B, L).

Day 13: Deqin - Shangri-la.

After breakfast, drive from Deqen back to Shangri La. Explore the Shangri La Old Town on your own. Includes: (B, L).

Day 14: Shangri-la - Kunming.

Take the flight to Kunming to connect the flight for your next destination. Service concludes. Includes: (B).
