Traveling by four-wheel drive and escorted by an experienced and knowledgeable local tour guide, on this exciting tour of Morocco’s south you will stay in comfortable riads, an exclusive Saharan tented camp and a private mountain lodge with perfect views over apple orchards and Jebel Toubkal, North Africa’s highest mountain. There is a plenty of opportunities for activity with camel trekking and walking options. Also included are a visit to the World Heritage Kasbah at Ait Benhaddou, the scenic Draa Valley, the Anti-Atlas mountains and beautiful walled city of Taroudant.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Drive to the Atlas to Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. Traveling by private four-wheel drive safari vehicle your tour begins with a scenic ascent of the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass. After a visit to the World Heritage Kasbah at Ait Benhaddou you will traverse the picturesque Draa Valley and see old Kasbahs, Ksour and palm groves.

Day 2: Drive to Sahara via Draa and Mhamid. Continuing your scenic journey south to the Sahara, you will reach Zagora then Mhamid, the last major settlements before the Moroccan Sahara takes hold.

Day 3: Explore Sahara by four-wheel drive, camel or on foot. The vast Sahara desert and the welcome comforts of a luxurious and exclusive tented eco-camp with en-suite facilities await you. Set in a peaceful wilderness location a variety of activities are possible from camp. Explore nearby small oases and dunes in your own four-wheel drive vehicle, explore on foot or take a camel ride. Star-gaze at night and enjoy the setting and rising sun, the huge dunes of Chegaga and dry lake of Iriki.

Day 4: Drive across Anti-Atlas to Souss Valley. Next you will traverse the starkly beautiful Anti-Atlas mountains to stay two nights in a beautiful riad in the Souss Valley.

Day 5: Excursion to walled city of Taroudant. There is time for a day trip to the walled town of Taroudant before heading high into the Atlas.

Day 6: Drive to Atlas lodge in Toubkal National Park. Over the Tizi n’Test pass to reach the Berber hamlet of Aremd in the heart of Toubkal National Park. Here you will stay in an idyllic private mountain lodge in en-suite rooms above walnut, cherry and apple orchards. During your stay you can explore the village, join an optional walk, or simply relax and soak up the breathtaking views!

Days 7-8: In High Atlas. Walks and Berber villages.

Day 9: Transfer to Marrakech. Arrive at 1:00 p.m.
