Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Hanoi City Arrival. Our representative/tour guide will meet and greet you at the airport upon arrival to Hanoi City - the capital city of Vietnam is an elegant city located on the banks of the Red River with tranquil Restored Sword Lake at its heart. North of the lake are the bustling streets of the Old Quarter, each street named after the trade that used to take place there. Much of the city was transformed by the French when it became a French protectorate in the 1880s and there are wide boulevards and large colonial buildings which are now home to government departments and foreign embassies. You will be transferred to your hotel in the city center to refresh. Overnight at hotel in Hanoi City. Includes: (B).

Day 2: Sapa. Pick up at your hotel in Hanoi. 4 hour orientation city tour including essential sights of the city like Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and historical relics of Presidential Palace, House on stilt and we will visit One Pillar Pagoda nearby. Next stop is the Temple of Literature - Vietnam's 1st University built in the 10th C". Break time for lunch at a stylish local restaurant and we will visit the Vietnam National History of Museum with good collection of prehistoric artifacts and everyday items of early history through eras and dynasties. an optional 1 hour foot massage at 3:00 pm, today’s class begins with a walk, accompanied by the Chef of the Spices Garden Restaurant, to the local market, where participants get a chance to learn all about Vietnamese ingredients.

Cooking demonstration will be held one and a half hour and you will explore cooking techniques, alternative ingredients and fascinating kitchen myths of this unique culture. You can rolls up your sleeves in the kitchen to prepare a proper Vietnamese meal. Dinner will be served in the Spices Garden restaurant to sample all the different dishes prepared during the class. The rest of time at your own leisure. Overnight at hotel in Hanoi. At 21:00, we will transfer you to the train station to catch night train to Sapa. Overnight on the train. Includes: (B).

Day 3: Lao Cai - Sapa - Topas Ecolodge. The train arrives at Lao Cai station approx at 05:30 am. Here you will take the Topas Shuttle bus to Sapa, where you enjoy your breakfast at a local restaurant. At 9:00 am, you will commence your journey from Sapa by car to Lao Chai village, a Black H'mong ethnic minority village. You will then be able to walk from Lao Chai to Ta Van village where the Giay ethnic minority hill tribe lives. Here you will be able to rest and enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by your guide in a local house. After lunch the walk continues through a bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai; a Red Dao ethnic minority village. After taking a rest near a waterfall to refresh, you start climbing uphill to a road where the car is waiting to transfer you to Topas Ecolodge. You check in to your bungalow and enjoy the view into the valley and dotted mountain surroundings. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 4: Topas Ecolodge - Sapa. At 9:00 am, you will commence the walk today by following the road for a while before turning on a small trail running downhill toward a suspension bridge at the bottom of the valley set over the long beautiful river. The walk is through the rice paddy terraces, hill sides and you have many opportunities to enjoy the magnificent valley views and encounter animals like water buffalos, goats or mountain pigs, which belong to the nearby Tay and Red Dao minorities, but are living their wide life.

At noon you will cross the suspension bridge and enjoy lunch in a Tay minority stilt house. After lunch, you will follow another trail along the river towards the Ban Ho village, also inhabited by Tay ethnic minority. If the weather permits, you can walk to a small waterfall near the village, where it is possible to swim. Ban Ho is situated in the large picturesque valley beneath Topas Ecolodge. Here you will experience the daily activities of the villagers before being transferred back to Sapa town. Tonight you will stay overnight at a comfortable hotel in Sapa town. Day 5: Sapa - Hanoi. An early start departing Sapa as we again past the frontier town of Lao Cai and head for hills towards the east. We visit the lively and colorful markets (held on Wed, Sat or Sunday). Here we see many ethnic minority groups, but the dominant are the aptly named Flower H'mong. All these ethnic minority tribes wear their distinct costumes and come into town to trade on this one day of the week. Returning to Lao Cai, we will board the overnight sleeper train for an eight-hour overnight journey back to Hanoi. Includes: (B).

Day 6: Hanoi - Halong Bay. Morning depart for Halong Bay, we go through the scenic countryside. The wondrous Halong Bay is truly one of Vietnam’s most impressive scenic sights. Check-in and you are warmly welcomed by friendly crew members. A longer cruise at a relaxed pace with more time to get “off the beaten track” and discover the secrets of Ha Long and Bai Tu Long Bay, visit the fishing villages, explore by kayak, unforgettable dining. Day 7: Halong Bay Cruising. Wake up at sunrise before breakfast, cruise Bai Tu Long, have the whole day exploring the islets and pocket lagoons by kayak or aboard. One of the meals can be served at a special place. Sleep aboard. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 8: Halong Bay - Hanoi - Hue. This is your last day in the bay so enjoy it, breakfast, cruise, a short trip on a local rowboat to visit a floating fishing village called Vung Vieng, chance to learn more about the daily life here. Cruise ends at noon and our car will be awaiting to pick you up and transfer back to Hanoi and then we will head for airport for a short flight to Hue. Welcome by a local tour guide and driver and then we will drive you to hotel and overnight at hotel in Hue. Includes: (B), (L).

Day 9: Touring the Imperial Citadel and we will take a leisurely boat trip on Perfume river to visit Thien Mu pagoda. Touring the countryside around Hue is a great way to discover the "real" Vietnam. The cultural, religious, and educational centre of Vietnam, Hue has a lot of historic sites waiting to be discovered. Visit the 500-year old village of Phuoc Tich with its worship halls and communal houses for a taste of ancient Vietnam.

And stop at the historic Thanh Toan Bridge, one of two covered bridges remaining in the country and then we will drive to visit handicraft village of Phu Cam - the one of the best-known places for making conical hats for hundreds years. This guided tour will teach you more about these hidden gems and their legacy, as nearly all of them have direct links with the old Imperial Court. The houses are not only attractive, but they also are a great way to learn about the traditional beliefs and rituals of the Vietnamese people. Back to hotel. Overnight in Hue city. Includes: (B).

Day 10: Hue - Hoi An. This morning we drive to Hoi An, we will cross Hai Van Pass where you will have magnificent view of the China Sea. Stop at Lang Co to have break. Visit the fascinating Cham Museum, famous China Beach and the Marble Mountains en route to charming Hoi An. Known as Faifo to early Western traders, Hoi An Ancient Town is an exceptionally well-preserved example of a South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century. Its buildings and its street plan reflect the influences, both indigenous and foreign, that have combined to produce this unique heritage site. At leisure for the rest of time. Day 11: Hoi An. In the morning, you will enjoy a walking tour with first stop is the bustling fish and vegetable market and then we will go through the Old Quarters to see the town's landmarks of Japanese Covered Bridge, ancient Assembly Hall, Phuc Kien Temple and then we take a river trip and you will enjoy the scenery along the Thu Bon River and the general view of Hoi An Ancient Town. It transforms itself at night, when many of the shops hang lanterns outside. We will transfer you back to the town and rest of time at your own leisure. Hoi An is well know for souvenir shopping with great prices and also famous for its large number of tailor shops, so if you want to get a cloth tailor made to measure, this is the time to do it. Day 12: Hoi An - Danang - Nha Trang. Take morning flight to Nha Trang. Check-in hotel and free at your own leisure. Overnight at hotel in Nha Trang. Nha Trang is a large city by the sea in South-Central Vietnam. One of the most popular beach destinations in south Vietnam. Backed by beautiful rolling hills which descend into the mountains, and with a grand boulevard lining the beachfront, Nha Trang is reminiscent of Nice in France, yet in a sleepier, more peaceful manner. It is comprised of a number of large bays with beaches that stretch for miles, overlooked by a palace on the headland and protected from storms and rough weather by the islands at the mouth of the bay. Day 17: Nha Trang - Dalat. Drive uphill to Dalat - Dalat is a picturesque town in the Central Highlands of Vietnam, well known as a local honeymoon destination because of its cool weather. Day 18: Stroll through the pine forest and hike to the top of Pinhatt Mountain (1,700 meters) for a view of beautiful Tuyen Lam lake. Enjoy a boat ride across the lake to visit Vietnam most beautiful pagoda. A good mix of pine forest, coffee plantations, and jungle on this trek. Moderate 4 hour walk with one strenuous uphill climb.

Day 19: Dalat - Saigon. Today we will take a short fly to Saigon - You will be met and greeted by our tour guide upon arrival to Ho Chi Minh City, which is formerly known as Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City is a sprawling metropolis that is home to over 5 million people and a fast-paced city full of contrasts as street vendors selling fruit and vegetables can be seen next to glitzy western-style bars and boutiques. Saigon’s history is only 300 years old.

In 1859 the city was captured by the French and became the capital of Cochin China. From 1956 until its dramatic demise in April 1975 it was the capital of the US-backed Republic of Vietnam. Today, Ho Chi Minh City is very much the heart of Vietnamese business and entrepreneurs. And yet the city still retains its connections to the past, particularly in Cho Lon, Saigon’s Chinatown. Here dozens of elegant temples and pagodas can be seen. The French also left their mark with some fine colonial-era buildings such as the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office. Day 20: Saigon is a popular shopping destination with numerous things to buy; from silk and antique watches to embroidered clothes and ethnic garments. Your guide will help you distinguish between mass-produced and hand-crafted goods, as well as lead you to the best stores. Start you tour walking from Mac Thi Buoi along Dong Khoi Street where you will discover plenty of souvenirs, clothes and accessories.

There is a chance to take a closer look at the City Opera Hall. Before lunch in a cozy Vietnamese restaurant, visit the Notre Dame Cathedral and the famous Post Office which are both wonderful examples of French Colonial architecture. In the afternoon, the tour continues with visits to two famous local markets; the Ben Thanh Market, the busiest in the city for over a century and Tan Dinh Market.

After a day full of exciting shopping, sightseeing and exploring, private spa treatments for 2 shall be held at a famous spa in a unique 1950 colonial French mansion, surrounded by lush gardens with climbing vines, ferns and water fountains. Shaded by climbing bougainvillea and an old jackfruit tree, a bean shaped swimming pool is adorned mosaic tiles. Decorated with tasteful antiques discreetly throughout the spa, the décor is traditional yet trendy using wooden furniture that resembles a 17th century Apothecary shop. Day 21: Departure from Saigon City. Free at leisure until we will transfer you to the airport to take your flight onward. End of service. Includes: (B).
