A tour to discover Edvard Greig's life and background; his music and the scenic beauty of Western Norway which inspired his work. Visiting Bergen and Loftus on the Hardanger Fjord with an extension to enjoy the Norway in a Nutshell experience on the Flam Railway and the Sogne Fjord. Fully escorted from Bergen.

Day 1: Collection upon arrival at Bergen Airport. Transfer city hotel with Half Board (Dinner Bed and Breakfast). Local sightseeing if time permits. Tour Briefing.

Day 2: Visiting Troldhaugen - the composer`s home on the outskirts of Bergen. Attending a concert on site. Free time in Bergen. Overnight at same hotel with Half Board.

Day 3: Local sightseeing in and around Bergen. The Hanseatic Museum and the Bryggen Hansa dock area with houses from 1700 - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ascend the Floibanen Funicular to the fabulous views over the city from Mount Floyen. Visit Old Bergen and the Fantoft Stave Church and savour the charm of Norway`s second city. Again overnight at same hotel with half board.

Day 4: Driving from Bergen to the Hardanger Fjord to stay at the superb Ullsvenang Hotel at Loftus with Half Board. An area of scenic beauty and one of the fruit gardens in Norway.

Day 5: Discover where Greig loved to spend his holidays and the cabin at the hotel where he composed. At leisure to enjoy the many hotel amenities and local sightseeing opportunities. Overnight with Half Board.

Day 6: Driving via Voss to Stalheim. Overnight at the famous Stalheim Hotel with Half Board and its superb viewpoint.

Day 7: Descending down the twisting Stalheimskleiva road; taking the local bus to Voss and then the train to the high plateau station at Myrdal. Transferring to take the Flamsbana train ride to descend to the fjord with majestic views along its entire journey to Flam. Time to shop before taking the ferry on Aurlands Fjord, an inner part of the mighty Sogne Fjord, to enter into the Naeroy Fjord - the narrowest fjord in the world - to Gudvangen. Collecting the car to drive to return to the Stalheim Hotel to overnight with half board.

Day 8: Driving back to Bergen.Free time in the city centre. Overnight with half board.

Day 9: Transfer to airport for departure. Price per person £3950 for the Tour sharing in a double/twin en suite room at hotels all on Half Board basis. A tour for music lovers and giving an opportunity to experience and enjoy much of the best nature in western Norway.
