Iceland Never Seizes to Amaze You! Iceland is not only closer than you think, but far different than you ever imagined. Iceland is an independent democratic republic with a short but colorful history, with its own language and rich cultural heritage, especially in literature. And an absolutely unique nature, land of ice and fire with active volcanoes, spouting geysers, extensive lava fields and deserts, waterfalls, mountains and glaciers. Enjoy the midnight sun in the summertime and the northern lights (Aurora Borealis) in winter. Experience an ever-changing landscape every day and learn about Iceland's geology, culture, and history.

Day 1: Arrival. Arrival at Keflavik airport.

Day 2: Reykjavik - Hella.
The first day of the round tour starts with a short (1.5 hours) city tour around Reykjavik. Among places we will see are the old harbor, the city center and Hallgrimskirkja church. Then we continue to Þingvellir (Parliament Plaines), the location of the old parliament and a geological phenomenon. From there we drive to the Geyser geothermal area for a spouting hot spring and to Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall, where on a sunny day you can see a rainbow in the spray above the waterfall. From there we proceed to our overnight stay.

Day 3: Hella - Vik. We start our second day by visiting the waterfalls of Seljarlandsfoss and Skogarfoss. Then we stop to visit the museum at Skogar. From there we continue to the beautiful scenery of Iceland's South Shore such as bird life at Dyrholaey, the rocks of Reynisdrangar, Solheimajokull glacier and black sands.

Day 4: Vik - Glacier Lagoon.
On the third day the trip continues over the lava of the Laki eruption in 1782-1783 and the black sands towards the oasis at Skaftafell national park close to Vatnajokull, Europe's biggest glacier. At Skaftafell we take a walk towards the beautiful waterfall Svartifoss and another walk to the glacier tongue. From there we drive to the Glacier Lagoon (Jokulsarlon) for a boat tour between the icebergs (included in price).

Day 5: Hofn - Modrudalur.
Now the tour continues along the beautiful coastal region of the East Fjords, with spectacular landscape, high mountains and deep fjords. Then we drive to the town of Egilsstadir and from Egilsstadir we drive over mountain roads to Modrudalur valley, the highest inhabited place in the country, at 469 m (1,539 ft) above sea level.

Day 6: Modrudalur - Myvatn.
From Modrudalur we drive to the magnificent waterfall Dettifoss, Europe's mightiest waterfall. From there we visit the natural phenomenon Asbyrgi. Then we continue towards the town of Husavik before driving to Lake Myvatn, one of the most interesting geological and geographical areas of the northern hemisphere. Recent and old volcanic activity has shaped the landscapes and the forces of nature are still at work. Among the interesting sights are a solfatara area with boiling and bubbling mud pots, lava that is still warm almost 30 years after the eruption, the lava labyrinth Dimmuborgir and the pseudo crater group at Skutustadir.

Day 7: Myvatn - Hrutafjordur.
We start the day by driving to the waterfall Godafoss (The Waterfall of the Gods). From Godafoss we drive to Akureyri where we will first take a short city tour and then enjoy a free time in Akureyri. From Akureyri we drive to the town of Siglufjordur and then around the Trollaskagi Peninsula to our overnight stay.

Day 8: Hrutafjordur - Snaefellsnes.
