Day 1: Arrival. Arrival at Keflavik airport. Transfer to your hotel in Reykjavik with airport shuttle.
Day 2: Reykjavik - Hvolsvollur. The first day of the tour starts with a short (1 and 1/2 hr) city tour around Reykjavik. Among places we will see are the old harbour, the city center, Hallgrimskirkja church and the Pearl. Then we continue to Þingvellir (Parliament Plaines), the location of the old parliament and a geological phenomenon. From there we drive to the Geyser geothermal area for a spouting hot spring and to Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall, where on a sunny day you can see a rainbow in the spray above the waterfall. From there we proceed to our overnight stay.
Day 3: Hvolsvollur - Glacial Lagoon. We start the day by visiting the waterfalls of Seljarlandsfoss and Skogarfoss. From there we continue to the beautiful scenery of Iceland's South Shore such as bird life at Dyrholaey, Solheimajokull glacier, the rocks of Reynisdrangar, black sands and the lava of the Laki eruption in 1782-1783. From there we drive to the Glacier Lagoon (Jokulsarlon) for an amazing boat tour between the icebergs. In the afternoon we drive back to our overnight stay.
Day 4: Glacial Lagoon - Vik. Day 4: Glacial Lagoon-Vik. On the third day the trip continues towards the oasis at Skaftafell national park close to Vatnajokull, Europe's biggest glacier. At Skaftafell we take a walk to the waterfall Svartifoss and another short walk towards the glacier tongue.
Day 5: Vik - Landmannalaugar - Hvolsvollur. Today we start with driving to Eldgja ("The Fire Fissure") and from there to the magnificent place of Landmannalaugar, surrounded by colorful rhyolite mountains.
Landmannalaugar is an extraordinary beautiful oasis in the highlands, featuring colorful mountains and geothermal activity. On the way to Hvolsvollur we drive along Mt. Hekla, an active volcano that erupted last in the year of 2000.
Day 6: Hvolsvollur - Blue Lagoon - Reykjavik. We drive to the Reykjanes peninsula where the mid Atlantic ridge rises from the ocean. More than half of the peninsula is covered with lava flows, some of which are only a few hundred years old. We will visit boiling mud pool´s and hot springs and head for the lighthouse on the westernmost tip of the peninsula with rich bird life in the summer. Then we continue to the Blue Lagoon for a relaxing bath before driving to Reykjavik.
Day 7: Departure. Departure transfer to Keflavik airport with airport shuttle. This tour is only available for groups, not for individuals to join.
